285 is blocking sata ports

hey

i just installed my gtx285 today and to my dismay i had to disconnect my dvd/dvd-rw because this huge card totally blocks off all the ports except for two (which my hd's are connected to)

i was wondering if anyone had some suggestions?

my rig is in my sig.

Check out some 90deg SATA cables? I'm guessing you're only using the red ports, so yeah. 90deg SATA cables.

Yep these work, my board provided three of them, otherwise you'll need to buy em for $2-5 online. Another option I saw was modifying the HS shroud itself with a dremel, although I dont't recommend this as it will certainly void your warranty.

The P5K Deluxe is not very over sized video card friendly. Your options are pretty much 90deg SATA cables, don't use as many SATA ports, different video card, different motherboard, or get an SATA controller card. Although, if you didn't mind going a little ghetto, you could grab yourself a longer SATA cable, and use one of the E-SATA ports on the back of the mobo.

well I checked my stash and I had a couple horizontal sata cables to that fixed my problem nicely. thank you!

and ohh man, loving my new video card. runs so much cooler then my 8800 did (idles at 40)
