I bet I could fix that problem easily, but given it is not my card and it will be gone tomorrow, i didn't bother. But someday when i get my p4 woodie and a gigabyte 8srx or equivalent for a 2nd p4 system, i would get me a new vga card (maib gf4 ti4200) for it. For some reason, i don't buy top of the line anymore since my impulse gf2 gts buy, i just love to get the cheaper cards that oc to a more expensive card.

:) Couldn't agree more Xtasy.

;) Those P4A NW are mighty fine! And he who buy top-of-the-range laughs last (but is king for a week)!

wow...hypersonic5 and EdipisReks, i'm not sure which change had the most effect, but after installing the latest 4-in-1 drivers and setting my AGP aperture to 256, my 3DMarks score jumped from 8100 to 9315!

It is most probably the 4 in 1 drivers. Same thing happened to me when i reinstalled my OS. My scores were halved and i was about the throw the rig out of the window but then i realized the absence of mobo drivers. I dont think that aperture size can make that much of an effect.

How do my scores compare? I ran 3dmark2001se yesterday on my new ti4200 (stock speeds) and got a score of 6000. Now I know my cpu is holding my system back, my mobo too for that matter (p3-850 100 mhz fsb, i440bx chipset).

I will be upgrading soon enough, I wonder if it's any point to even overclock my video card since it's my cpu/mobo that's the bottleneck.

;) Benchiu, it certainly is your CPU that's holding back the potential of the 4200, but don't worry too much. Until you upgrade you can soak up the untapped potential of the GPU by enabling AA & Aniso & max details, you may even be able to up the resolution at very little cost in FPS.

:D The 4200 will soak up every extra mhz you can throw at it up to and beyond 2ghz. Unlike those GF2TI and GF4MX cards!

:) Your 6000 is more than a P4 2ghz with a GF2TI card can achieve at only 5000!

:D And 6000 is about what a P4 2ghz with a GF4MX460 can achieve:

;) When will people begin to realise that, at least for gaming, the gfx card is more important than the CPU?
