283 million triangles per second of sustained performance...EDIT: I made a boo-boo. :o

It's always hard to make comparisons because every company has a different way of measuring polygonal performance. For exmaple, on paper the GeForce3 would appear to be twice as powerful as the Wildcat II 5110.

I wonder what effects are on those 283MPolys/s. If it's another "PS2 Confirmed: 55MPolys/s" deals where they were all flat-shaded minimum-size polys, you can forget it. Besides, those workstations are not for games anyway, they're only for final rendering professional scenes and concentrate on quality.

I think it's funny how you're comparing a supercomputer to a game console.

<< Yeah, but let's see it do some Direct X... 😉

That thing can probably run in Software mode faster than any card can in DX 🙂

/me wants one! 😀

Really, though, I'd prefer one with lots of disks and processors, since that would be more useful to me than the gfx. But still, I wouldn't mind that graphics module. 🙂

SGI anything costs a LOT of money. Is it really worth the cost and how many of us will actually utilize it's power?

I would love to play Serious Sam, in 4000x3200 @150Hz on a 51" plasma monitor with this thing.!😀

*I have no idea if my numbers are correct, and I don't care. It's a joke!*

I would like to see for myself if you can game on this thing! What a ride.....
