I currently have a 28" 19x12, 1080p LCD monitor with HDMI, VGA and Composite inputs. It's a pretty good size for desktop use and for watching movies on, but I am starting to get the feeling that a 37" would be even better for my preferences.

Costco currently has a deal for a 42" Westinghouse 1080p LCD TV for $699.99+tax, and I'm debating whether or not to sell my 28" LCD monitor to get that LCD TV for my HT and PC use.

I was wondering if someone can tell me which would be better for HT and PC use. Since they would both be 19x12 1080P displays, I am assuming the dot pitch is considerably larger on the 42" LCD TV and the images on the 28" LCD monitor will appear finer. Is this true?

Any info about the pros and cons of each, and any tips, would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

30" lcd for pc use is 2560x1600
thats 4 megapixel

you are already stretching it at 28" with 2megapixel
at 37"+ with the same resolution the pixels get bigger..and bigger...
its fine for film where you sit back, but for desktop its a no go.
