2700 DDR only running at 2100

I started putting my system together last night. I put in P4 2.53 (w/533 FSB), Intel D845PEBT2 Mobo, and my Kingston 2700 512 DDR (yes, it is the "value ram"). NO drives or anything yet.

the MOBO supports 2700 when the Processor has a 533 FSB, which it does, and this is confirmed in BIOS. I ran a POST test and BIOS came up. everything is fine, but it says my memory is running at 266 mhz. Any ideas on what is wrong? Did I get the wrong memory in the package? Or is it a jumper setting or something in BIOS that needs to be changed? any ideas?

I thought the 533 FSB's were slower than the 400's.

You need to go in your bios & set your ram ratio to 4:5 to get 166mhz DDR333 ,right now you're at 1:1 that gives you 133mhz DDR266

What? Did you mean to say that the 400mhz FSB was slower than the 533mhz FSB? You probably did since a higher FSB only helps increase overall speed

400 fsb P4 chips use 100mhz quad pumped
533 fsb chips use 133mhz quad pumped

4X100=400
4x133=533

so yes 533 chips are faster since they run on 133mhz
