iLO Walmart Article

It appears iLO is Walmart's own brand, but it remains to be seen who actually makes this stuff for them and what the quality is. At least you won't have any problem returning it if it's bad...

I read on AVSForum that iLO LCDs are made by Tatung, which makes sense because Walmart carries their products.

Walmart brow-beats these companies to produce at cut-rate prices, so who knows what kind of quality you'll get?

probably 1280. The only ones I've seen that do 1366 (or whatever) are the sharp Aquios models. Of course, if I'm wrong, then this IS a hot deal!

Actually, if you're going to watch TV, you WANT 1280x720. Remember, HDTV is broadcast at 720P or 1080I (1080P, while gorgeous, is a little bandwidth-prohibitive). If you have 720 lines of signal and 768 lines of pixels, you're either wasting space, or you're doing pixel stretching, which is oooogly. Damn. If I didn't already have Dish Network service, I'd seriously consider this and a new account with a Dish 921 🙂

has anyone bought this TV yet and opened it up to see who makes the video processor chip? If its a Genesis or Pixelworks Chip, it must be a good TV and well worth the price. I don't think its worth saying the picture is good or not on the forum becasue what you think is good I might hate and vise versa. I'm seriously thinking about getting it and checking for myself if no one has done this yet... Anandtech should do it actually.... ehh hem... up there.... you should pop this baby open anadtech and let us know what the deal is. Its not a PC part, but its a windows media related part...

That is definately true about Walmart's products.....many companies produce a product that looks the same and in many cases is named the same but is lower quality than the standard product sold to other stores such as Sears/Target/Kmart...
