Just your basic giant, cheap computer screen. Hanns-G HL272HPB 27" LED LCD monitor:

I buy these at work, they are really nice. Large, easy-to-read fonts & really bright. You get full HD, which is great for movies. These are also really good for older people (parents, grandparents) due to the large screen size vs. lower resolution. Specs:

* 1080p (1920 x 1080)
* 40 watts (less than a lightbulb)
* HDMI, DVI, VGA inputs + HDCP support
* 100mm x 100mm VESA support
* 9.92 pounds
* 3-Year Limited (1-Year LCD/Backlight) Parts & Labor

My only complaint is the base is kind of crappy - no height adjustment, but you can tilt it at least. Monoprice has a bunch of cheap wall/desk-mount monitor arms if you're so inclined. They are pretty light (just 10 pounds) and only use 40 watts of power, which is really nice. Right now this is my preferred LCD model that I purchase at work; we usually run dual monitors and they work out great, everyone loves them!
