My mothers donating her 25" TV to a center of women in difficulty, and she's looking to buy a new 27" TV.

Any sugestions on a TV, she doesn't know how much to invest, but wants to keep it resonable. I've got a 30" HDTV and she wants nothing that fancy.

Are all brand names pretty much the same, like samsung, jvc, sony? You can get 27" models in all all price ranges, is it worth investing 500$ on one, or will 300$ be enough?

THanks

I bought a 27" WEGA CRT TV from Sony. The picture is fantastic and has great clarity. Granted Sony is more expensive, but keep in mind that you will probably have this thing for 5+ years. Might as well get a good one that will last the test of time. I got mine at HH Gregg on sale for $275.00 w/o tax. Not a bad deal 🙂

WEGA's, I heard they were good, but there expensive, well locally anyways.

Are they really worth the extra money, from say a 240$ samsung?

Also would it be better to wait after the holidays to buy, or now?
