It's not just VW haters. If it's not a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan, you're gonna get hated against. There was just a thread the other day comparing the WRX and the G35 with (of course) no mention that the G35 costs $10k more and isn't even in the same class or marketed to the same demographic.

Personally I'm sick of all the elitist fools here who brag about 1/4 mile times in their front drivers, or who bitch about the 1/4 mile time in a top handling AWD car. I'm just about tempted to put together some old Mopar and show you nerds that 12 seconds is actually slow...

As for the Passat, it's is an excellent car. Reliable, smooth engine, and a comfortable, top-notch interior. AWD is a feature beyond price if you live anywhere that has frequent bad weather. It's one thing to own a nice car, it's another to actually be able to drive it when and where you want to.

Lunotick: What year, an '03? That is a good price, I believe MSRP is somewhere around $32,000. For a used car, that's about an average price. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me. I claim title as most knowledgeable Passat owner on this forum! :D :p
