I have searched stickys and google with little understanding.

I'm wanting to upgrade 19" monitor to 27.5" Hanns

Current System:

e5200 oced to 3.4
8800 gs 384 megs ram
everything else na

I'm fine with running newer games for the time being at 1280x1024 if needed with black bars on the side of the screen if this is possible or lowering the 1920x1200 resolution down to 1680x1050 though not being native it could be fuzzy. Is all this possible on said monitor.

I plan on purchasing a 4870 1 gig card in about 3 more months.

Thanks for the info!

the new ones in best buy or the older versions? The older ones have weak contrast, and u might get 1 with horrid backlight bleeding, and has TN unevenness on top and bottom of the screen, the new ones in best buy are mostly improved on the bleeding, but they both have inaccurate colors imo, if u need a big monitor consider the some of the 26" ips or that Asus 26"

Will be buying through newegg they have it for 349 free shipping currently at 329 till the 13th. The reviews there have been great on the monitor but wondering about the scaling to lower resolutions?

I have the impression that scaling to anything other than the native resolution will look horrible on any LCD. I was considering that LCD as well, and the tax and recycle fee just kinda kills the deal for me. I'll just continue to wait a bit longer....

I have this monitor but i always keep it at 1920x1200. At first I had a 4850 512 and ran pretty much everything just fine with the exception of crysis. All you have to do is turn down aa for the most part so I would think when you get your 4870 would do just fine. I recently built a new comp and went ahead with the 4870x2
