I doubt it's the OS as it only really seems to occur with any vague semblance of frequency with nVidia boards.

Does Detonator Destroyer work on XP? I heard Detonator Eradicator does but I don't know where to find it.

It's not the OS, it's certain motherboard vendors who don't things that they should. In the case of VIA chipsets it's because because certain parts of the memory aren't plugged how they should be.

BTW Rand, do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard? If you don't make sure you get it ASAP.

I disagree with that being how other people with different chipsets have also had the same problem, besides I don`t get the problem on my KT133 board with Win 98,however on my KT266A board with XP OS I`ve had the loop error once, anyway it`s an interesting problem.Btw I`m not saying it does not happen with 98 just seems more common with XP .

I had the same prob with 3DMark2001... Lost Focus Error.... I rebooted and it worked fine. The nView thing is kinda cool, the "make window transparent when moved" is pretty neat.....

23.11 Drivers GeForce3 Ti 200 No OC 3D Marks = 6144
27.10 Drivers GeForce3 Ti 200 No OC 3D Marks = 6185

Time to test overclocking now!!!

27.10 Drivers With 200/450 OC 3DMark = 6629

I hope it stays stable! I like the 444 :)

I disagree with that being how other people with different chipsets have also had the same problem,

And those other chipsets probably have similar issues. It's up to the manufacturer to get it right and just because a mobo is based on a stable chipset it doesn't mean that the manufacturer can't stuff it up. If that wasn't the case then every motherboard ever made on a certain chipset would be exactly as fast and as stable as the others using the same chipset. That is clearly not the case.

The most common cure for this problem is getting the latest BIOS for your motherboard and if you haven't done so already I suggest that you do so immediately.

besides I don`t get the problem on my KT133 board with Win 98,

I haven't had it ever on a KT133a, neither have I had the NMI error.

You are missing the point it`s easy to point the finger, even I thought it might of been XP OS problem but when you dig deeper and see people with different chipsets even video cards and operating systems(I know it`s mainly XP and 2K and Nvidia) with the problem then it becomes less clear ,besides even with the latest bios updates the problem still exists.

Companies like Microsoft and Nvidia have said they are working on the problem so it`s hard to point the blame since nobody as said it`s their fault.

There`s always the first time( I only had my first loop error few weeks back on my XP rig),and there`re lots of guys out there with the problem still, the bottom line is the problem is still there and so far there`s no 100% fix.

Anyway lets just beg to differ on this one for now.

I got rid of these drivers, fast. Yeah, my 3dmark score did go up by 50 points, and I had the Nature demo running at 40fps at times, it did something weird to my system. I have these sudden, brief, slowdowns now. Something suddenly uses a lot of my processing power, but I don't know what it is. I'll be listening to an MP3 or watching a DVD, and the sound and video will stall for a moment as my processor does.... something. I switched back to the 23.12s, but that didn't help. Reinstalled my sound card drivers, but that didn't help either. Overall, im a bit annoyed

It sure is. It's not Windows XP neither is it nVidia.

besides even with the latest bios updates the problem still exists.

That doesn't mean anything. The manufacturer may have addressed the issue with a BIOS fix so I suggested it as something to try.

I already have the latest bios updates on both systems, besides it`s not a big problem with me since I`ve only had the loop error once,I`m also one of the people that always has the latest drivers etc as well, also I was not posting a problem with my PC and how to fix it but rather comments on the Nvidia loop error ;).

Lets hope the problem is fixed soon for the other people that have a serious problem with the Nvidia loop error, since at the moment there`s no guaranteed fix out.
