Depending on your motherboard and RAM, you should be able to hit 2.4ghz easy with the 2600+ mobile.

My 2600-M is currently running at 195 x 12.5 = 2.45ghz with 1.7v. I can run the chip at 200 x 12.5 = 2.5ghz, but my 8RDA board is unstable at the higher FSB speed.

The fastest I can keep mine stable is 2012.50 (175X11.5) but I've seen a lot of people getting much higher.

just curious what is your stepping? As far as ocing is concerned a good overclock is in the ballpark of 2.5 ghz or so. That would be at 200x12.5 or 250x10, try different settings. Most of the mobile chips will reach 2.5 ghz and up, the only questions is voltage the chip can do it at. As we speak i have been priming for 4 hours at 200 x 13 @ 1.7 on watercooling, cant remember my steeping it was the aqy...0346mpmw. Also try the amdmb forums to see what other people with msi mobos have reached, and for any further information.

Chip is not your problem, something else is. These babies are nearly certain to hit above 2.5 GHz, some much higher than that.

I agree. More than likely, it's a weak power supply, if he does in fact have a mobile chip. His profile says he has a desktop chip, though, so maybe he was just confused. Sylvanas also never said he had ordered a mobile chip.

no, its not a mobile chip. and should i play around with the multipliers a bit? or leave it at 11.5. also what impact does raising the voltage do? would it be a good idea in my case?
