Are 29er MTB offer real advantage/s over traditional 26" MTB?

Not sure if you are joking or not but there actually are 69ers. 26in in the back and a 29in wheel up front. And there are 96ers too.

My main bike is a gary fisher sugar 293 dual suspension 29er and I love it. If you go to MTBR.com you can read thread after thread of people asking this question and people going over the pros and cons.
