It's not a bad deal but I'm not getting that one because I want the Visual Land one with the rechargeable battery that you just stick into the port of your computer and it recharges. It also comes with FM radio and voice recording and goes for about $50. I'll pay the extra $11 over your mp3 player for the built in battery recharger.

Link to the Visual Land 512MB for $50? Here's their website, and it's $88 there. Kindly provide a link for the $50 price. That would be hot.

edit: Does anyone know the difference between the VL-335 and the VL-336?

VL-335 - A quick search on Ebay shows prices ~$90-100 +S/H range with majority being sold from Great Britain and Asutralia. So, if you know where to get one for $50.00, please share.

If you restrict your ebay search to items in USA priced in USD, you'll see the VL-335 for $45 + $15 s/h. Anyone seen reviews of the VL units?

Starting/ongoing bids do not count. Care to show a completed or BIN auction for $45.00? I think not.

iDrool.
Can anyone provide a review of this thing? I need an Mp3 player!
Hmmm....it's a toss-up between this one and the SD-compatible one at CompGeeks...

EDIT:
Does that thing even have an LCD? There's not much purpose in an Mp3 player if you can't figure out what the heck you're playing.

Jesus... Why would anyone want a cheap MP3 player (~$100), when they could get a cheapo refurb PDA (such as a refurb from Dell) which offers much better flexilbility. I supposed you might want something small, heck, you can get a holster for the PDA... Is it just me? Anyone? :)

PDAs dont last very long, maybe 2-3 hrs? 4 tops?

People just want 1 functionality and PDAs are a hassle to bring along.

It looks like the vl-336 takes a AAA battery (look at the 3rd picture in the slide show).

Any one tried these yet?

because some people NEED it small to jog with or to take into the gym. i work at a gym and it never ceases to amaze me how many people bring in PDA's and drop them (or have something drop on them). even an ipod is a little much for a 1-2 hour workout (seen a bunch of those die too).
