Before you send your cards back because it doesn't say "high speed" on it. Are we sure that the "high speed" versions are actually faster and not an older package? Kingston's web site shows all their CF cards with the regular look of the card I have. In addition they seem to sell only one speed at the consumer level. I think that this is the same card that gets reviewed as a decently fast CF card. Check it out before you dismiss it, because it could take a while to get a new one, and it could all be a lot of trouble for nothing.

I called Kingson a while back on the "High Speed" labeling on the card - rep told me the cards are all the high speed version - they only changed the labeling on the cards. Enjoy the HIGH SPEED compactflash!

WTF I just got my Simpletech 256mb cflash card. I see dell updated their rebate to the new one so I downloaded the old one from a link here. Now I went to simpltechs page and they REMOVE the disclaimer extending the deadline to 30 days from purchase! I wanted a printout of it to send in with the rebate as proof. Please tell me someone still has it?

As of this morning my order status for the Simpletech cf card and a 200GB hard drive said in production. I called Dell since the disclaimer from Simpletech is gone and it's been 15 days since I ordered. The results:

1. Although my order still says in production, the cf card was delivered by ups today.
2. Due to the rebate issue, Dell processed a "rebate exception" and submitted AND approved my rebate for me.
3. The csr tells me that the 200GB drive I ordered at the same time is due to ship today.
4. I received an e-mail from Dell this afternoon:

"We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to ship
your order sooner, we are experiencing an unexpected delay and will not be able to ship this
order and any associated orders until on or before 5/23/2003. No action is required to proceed with the new date, however, if you do not wish to wait, you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund.

If you have any questions, please contact Dell at 800-289-3355, extension
66966 or email us at us_dell_notify@dell.com. Please include your order number or customer number with any
correspondence.

We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause."

Does anyone at Dell know what is going on? Is my hard drive being shipped or not? I guess I'll give it a few days and see if the hard drive shows up.

If this were someone else, I might be roflmfao.

there's a coupon good for today, like $40 off or something (maybe $35). i'm not sure how much you have to add to get it to work, but you can get 5 kingston 256 cf, 1 simpletech, with the kingston having a $20 rebate, simpletech with $20 rebate. kingston $56 or something, simpletech $65? so, you might need to add something to get up to the limit. i added a simpletech 256 sd card for $80 (has 10% off), with $25 rebate. so comes out to be $350 for everything (plus you get $145 in rebates back)
