Yeah Dell says that they are "manufacturing" these things. Anyhow, the estimated ship date is later this week. This is exactly why I chose the Kingston. With the Simpletech's 15 days after purchase date, you might not get all your stuff before the deadline.

On the invoice that you get it will state the order date, when you send in the rebate circle the order date, and you will be fine.

I have had shipping delays happen with several rebates with Staples and OM, I circled the order date and got the rebate no problem!

I picked up a Kingston card because Kingston is awesome with rebates. :)

EDIT also read the rebate on the Kingston unit, it says you can buy up to 5 of them and still be eligible for rebates, you HAVE to send them all in the same envelope though - Good deal for those ebayers in all of us!

Thanks. Hope that the CF card comes earlier and the rebates go through!

I didn't mean that they would get us because it shipped after the deal expired so much as the deadline to submit the rebate materials. If you do the Simpletech deal and the they want everything postmarked within 15 days of your receipt date (the order date?) and you still don't have your stuff 15 days after the order date, then you can't send them an original UPC. Or are they lenient about that also?

That's a good question sxr7171, I've never run into that situation yet. Your invoice will also show the ship date, so if you wrote a little later telling the rebate person that the product was shipped late they would probably do it up for you, but that is YMMV.

I had 2 rebates for a microsoft mouse a while ago, both said they needed the original UPC, they even said no photocopies!! I wrote a letter, and enclosed a photocopy and another part of the box the box and I got that rebate. It's alot YMMV but most people are good about that.

I haven't had a single rebate NOT come back yet, I always keep full records of everything, I fill out about 5-10 rebates a month too.

Question-first time digital camera buyer. Will have occassion use-weddings, vacations, etc. Bought a Canon A70 and one Simpletech 256 MB card from Dell. Is one memory module sufficient for this use?

Dang Dell gave me a May 21st ship date on the camera.

256mb should be just fine for a 3 megapixel camera. You should be able to fit about 150-200 full resolution picutures on it.

My digital camera is a little behind the times. The manual says it accepts Type I Compact Flash cards. The Kingston one is Type II. Are Type II cards backwards compatible with Type I?

Thanks

this is what i'm guessing....according to Kingston, the CF/256 is a Type I card, as are all their Compact Flash cards. They do offer Type II adapters. I ordered the Kingston, and I have a Canon A70 which only takes type I, so I hope it is indeed a type I. Type II is larger, so a Type II slot can take both I and II, but not the other way around.

My order is delayed again.. till May 7th!!

Can anyone guarantee that that the rebate would go through based on the order date?

Otherwise I'm gonna cancel my order

Kingston will accept this no matter how late you receive yours. If for some reason you have any problems. Dell will credit your account the money. So if your canceling for that reason, that would be foolish.

I'd think so.
However, Dell pulled the rebate forms from their website so maybe they think otherwise or maybe they've got too many orders.

yeah, i noticed that, that's why i'm wondering...

so i said if by 'between 7th and 30th' they mean days 8 to 29....

that would have meant that someone buying on the 7th would not be elligible... that doesnot make sense.

So I placed my order for some Simpletech 512MB CF.

I ended up ordering both the simpletech and the kingston hoping that I would get one before the deadline. I will simply cancel or return the other. The Simpletech says May 9th, while the Kingston says something along the lines of "we are doing everthing we can to find this for you." Mind you, the Kingston showed a ship date before changing to that message. Ordering stuff from Dell is really annoying.

Does anyone have a link to the Simpletech rebate? The one above is no good and can't find it in Dell. My CF is on its way after one week of ordering but can't find rebate form.

My Kingston supposedly shipped today. Even though earlier today it wouldn't ship until May 7 (different from May 2nd yesterday)

A new Kingston rebate is now available for through the month of May. Still $20. I think I am going to jump on this one.
