Oceanius you are not going to find Samsung DDR with B3 at the end of the part number in BB or anywhere else becuase that is a true ddr333 part like you said. They do not package that stuff up as pc2100 for pny they sell to newegg and the likes for much more.

Info on maryland BB and CUSA-

CUSA: columbia and glen burnie- all elixir, picked up 0. looked to be about 6-10 at each.

BB:
columbia and glen burnie- all hynix as far as I could tell, picked up 2 in Columbia. Large pile available at both.
BB at Security had nanya chips, picked up 3 there and will probably return the hynix.

Any thoughts on nanya vs. hynix vs. elixir? 🙂

my personaly preference:

Hynix > Nanya > Elixir

Just got one 256MB PC133 Kingston ValueRAM from the local BB store.
It's working great @143MHz in my old A7V133 (YMMV)
Paid 51.59$ w/ tax. (MIR is 18$), final price (if MIR arrived) is 33.59$

Andy....Who do you think gets more RAM bought from? Newegg and GoogleGear combined or Bestbuy? Its a bunch of BS, Ram Prices tripled in 2 days...u dont see shortage that quickly...and why is their a shortage? Somebody file for bankruptcy?

BB @ NYC (Chelsea):
Kingston ValueRAM: KVR266X64C25/256-R
Hynix w/ HY5DU28822AT-H chips

I'd been trying ALL LAST WEEK to get the k-byte deal (not looking to OC), with no luck. I was at BB this (Sun) morning as they opened the doors. Had to ask for the RAM - it was in the back.

If you're going to go for this deal, act fast - they sold out VERY quickly last week.

nice find. I got 2 of the infineon this morning and also picked up the ECS K7S5A with a 1500 XP from fry's for $99. not too shabby.

I was one of the first in line @ my area CompUsa here in Melbourne today... I picked up the memory, speaker - sound card combo... I was the only one getting these. Everyone else was getting the advertised hard drive or just Sunday morning shopping...

The memory deal is pretty sweet in my opinion. The local stores that once had good memory prices are at least 20$ more than CompUsa.

Hmmmm.....

I went to get the DDR deals in CompUSA and BB. I got an Elixir from CompUSA....doh. Seems like PNY is only pumping out Elixir DDR. At BB I got Kingston with chips from a company I never heard of.....Hynix.

There weren't too many people going for the DDR, so there should be plenty to go around for the people who want it. I was the only one who bought DDR in the morning at CompUSA. At bestbuy I only saw like 2 other people get it and there were like 15 on the shelf.

I was at the Mission Viejo stores in So Cal.

How good is hynix for overclocking?

I went to Bestbuy to buy the Kingston RAM this afternoon. But at the checkout desk, the guy asked where to use the RAM, when I told him for my DELL system, he told me the RAM won't work for DELL, the size of DELL's RAM is different from regular RAM and I won't be able to plug in it. I think that's rediculous and I insisted to buy it. But I'm still a little bit worry if it can work for my new coming Dimenstion4500. Anyone here has DELL Dimension 4500 with PC2100 RAM, could you help me take a look for the size of your RAM?
Thanks in advance.

wtf..? how can it not work? DELL doesnt use any special RAM. that is absoultely ridiculous!

perhaps he referred to "regular" ram as DDR and the special ram that DELL Uses as SDRAM? just a guess, those guys tend to be confused sometimes.

I'd think it would work just fine. The Best Buy guy might think it's like a Dimension 4500S which is a slim case version. But the 4500 Tower shouldn't have any problems with the Kingston Ram. Ram only differs by the PCB size, some are shorter in width others are longer. If it's DDR its 184 pins.

go to dell support's website and type in service tag code from the dell
then go to recommended upgrades, system specs, stuff like that
good luck, hope this helps
edit: go here to type in service tag
hopefully i didn't link a session 😱
i remember that my dell takes 512 stick but crucial from bb didn't work (got beeps). went back and got two sticks of 256 bb crucial, fine since

I don't know, have to wait, my 4500 didn't arrive yet.
I checked Kingston web site, the web site recommend the model# KTD4400/256 for DELL Dimension4500.
I also checked the retail version Intel motherboard, D845EBG2, which also uses Intel845e chipset, the recommended RAM from Kingston is KVR266X64C25/256, it's exact the one on sale in Bestbuy.

I've got my new Dimension 4500 and I've plug in the Kingston value RAM, no problem at all and on it shows 384MB on system also.
It must be a stupid customer who needs SDRAM but bought DDR RAM back home and found it doesn't fit then came back to tell the stupid sales.
