I just tried this. I'm from CA, westcoast region. I think all the OD's in CA have it for $99.99.

The 1st OD I went to had a $99.99 yellow price tag as well as the $99.99 in their system. So I skipped that and went to another OD.

The 2nd OD I went had a shelf tag of $64.99. I went up to the register, the ram rung up as $99.99. I tried to PM it with another OD's ad for $59.99 - $5.00 instant rebate as advertised in the east coast region. But they wouldn't let me. So they just honored the $64.99 price tag. I used the $20 coupon and so that put me up at $44.99 + tax. $44.99 - $65.00 rebate = -$20.00. So I get paid $20 to keep it. And if I ebay it, I'll probably get $50-$60 so I make about $70-$80 - tax ;) Didn't get as lucky as those people who walked out with the $30 price tag :( but I can't complain :)

sounds good. but couldnt you pricematch to the online site? (officedepot.com). it shows the pny pc133 256MB going for $54.99. anyone have experience with OD rebates or PNY rebates? also, where in west cali are you?

Nope, the ram I bought was DDR not pc133 :(

Edit: Also, the rebate ONLY works for DDR ram and not any others. The rebate requires SKU#442-827 which is the DDR ram.

I'm from Southern CA Los Angeles area. Also, there's a post above which states this thread as a repost and links to the original post. From there, someone did a search on office depot.com using zip codes. Washington area didn't have the deal as mentioned but Florida did.

Oh no.. Not this again.. I just went to the OD site and I'm going through the same backorder crap that I just went through with the 40 gb Maxtor. Guess I'll have to call around tomorrow and see if there is anything available.

Oh no.. What's happening? I was going to PM the web price to in-store if I find it in stock somewhere. It was showing up at $64.95 online a minute ago, and now it jumped to $99.95 for me. Also, I was messing around on the OD site to try to get the site to add the RAM to my cart and the site kicked me out. They said it's for my own protection. Heh.. Whatever.

This is even worse than the Maxtor deal for OD. People are making money on this RAM after rebate. At least OD was getting $10 plus tax out of the sale on the Maxtor drives.

I had no problem ordering for delivery with online $15 off $50.

$64.99
$ 3.00 tax
-$15.00 coupon

$52.99 total charged to credit card
-$65.00 mail in rebate

get paid $12.01 :)

Tomorrow morning it's off to OD B&M to try with $20 off $50 printable coupon and extra 10% off??:D

Salvador:
When I selected in store pick-up, price changed to $99.99.
Changed back to delivery option, price returned to $64.99.

Give it a try.;)

Sweet Deal! I put one in my cart and applied a 10% of $50+ and total cost with tax was around $63. So with rebate, I make $2 :D

Delivery date was stated as Wednesday, September 3rd.

When I selected in store pick-up, price changed to $99.99.

Now, it's completely pulled from the site. When I run a search on the sku, I pull up a "sorry" page. Oh well.

I can't believe that some could add it to their cart and even order it. Guess it's B&M or bust tomorrow.

Since the $65 rebate is only valid through Sunday, 9/1/02, do you think the online orders which ship on Tuesday 9/3/02 will qualify?

I've gotten screwed on a staples rebate before where I ordered before the rebate end date, but it shipped after the end date (since they don't charge until items ship).

Salvador,
When I use the link from "acenuts" earlier post HERE it still comes up for me at $64.99.

BigOneBitey
Rebates are by the order date, not the ship date. Order date should be 8/30/02, or 8/31/02, so should work just fine.:)

When I use the link from "acenuts" earlier post HERE it still comes up for me at $64.99.
When I click on that very same link, it says: "Warning! We apologize, no additional information is available for the requested sku".

I've cleared cookies and everything too. I wonder if OD is knocking this off their sites in a regional manner (servers)?

Man this is the best deal yet! Is anyone still gonna try to get the $25 rebate as well?? I called the # on that form and they said that they would honor the rebate for the ddr. The OD rebate only requires a copy of the upc and receipt while the PNY rebate requires the actual upc.

Just worked for me! Squeeked in to local B&M 3 minutes befor closing, grabbed one of the last 2 DDR sticks. Came up 99.99 at the register, showed cashier web price print out of 64.99, she called the manager, he checked it over and had her lower the price. Showed her the 20 off 50 coupon, she applied it, and after tax it was $48.70. After 65 mail in I'm $16.30 in the black, plus the ram. Amazing!

I don't know why, but I am in Michigan & it still shows up at $64.99 for me & will let me order for delivery! I would suggest clearing cookies & trying again, but since it didn't work for Salvador, it probably won't work for you either. I am at a loss to explain why this still shows up for me.

docinthebox:
I tried your link, and it STILL lets me order for delivery. In stock too. Must be a totally regional thing. lol

Try this link

It should show $64.99 back ordered.

Looks like online price is $64.99. Store price in CA is $99.99.

Even at $99.99, this is a great deal. Use $20 off $50 coupon and $65 rebate to get it down to $14.99.

I have one worry though. The $65 rebate is processed by Express Group. If for some reason, they don't pay up, then the RAM costs $80 which is a totally cold deal. So this deal has some risk involved.

Edit: Link doesn't work. Looks like you have to click on "Order By Item #". Type in "442827". Then click "Add to Cart".

Did anyone get a stick of ddr ram with only one notch on the bottom slightly off center. I thought ddr ram was supposed to have 2 notches at 20%, 50%, not 1 at 45%. Is this normal? I searched newegg and only found one picture of a stick with 1 notch, so I'm not sure if this is a manuf. error or some ddr chip that certain people need. Then again I could be stupid since my computer isn't in the town I'm in,I can't open it up and say yeah I'm right or not...Any thoughts would be appreciated

just returned from the Office Depot B&M and i got memory for $44.95 or whatever + NJ tax. I just printed up the website showing the 64.95 price and asked them to adjust the price and they did. Threw the coupon at them and they took it. Best of all, the $65 rebate printed up at the register and the rebate definately has to be legit for any of the doubters out there. I thank you all very much. I missed out on the $10 HD last week but I needed this more. I got Elixir chips on my pcb and was wondering if anyone could tell the max overclock they have gotten out of them. I have owned a lot of memory but never anything with Elixir.

For those of you that aren't able to order online (or even get the item to come up on OD's website) and that want a printout of the $64.99 price to take into the B&M store, choose "Order by item #" on the top menu taskbar of the OD page, enter your quantity and when it asks you for a zip code or login, enter the zip code 37217. The page will then show the item along with a quantity and for me, showed that the item was in stock. I'm going to take this printout to a store if I find a store that has any in stock. ;) Remember.. You'll probably have to delete your cookies first, especially if you have OD's site set up for auto login.

BTW.. I tried checking out at that point, but when I went to log in under my zip code, they backordered the RAM for me because it showed OOS in my area. Just wanted to let you know in case you try and order it online this way.
