Just got 2 of them at 39.99.....box label says PC2100 256mb 266mhz with Infineon on the ram, I was wondering how i can tell if these are PC2700 packaged wrong into a pc2100 box.

I just (2pm Sun) picked up two of these at West Palm Beach, FL. The package in the case was marked $39.99. There were about 6 left.

Can anyone determine the chip mfg based on the following chip markings:

A large letter "S" in outline on a white background
S80032VMCTW

Any ideas on the chip mfg?

I just picked up 2 at Circuit City for 73 bucks. I wasn't even thinking 110% PM or Rebates just 20 Minutes less of a drive. Turns out i got em for 34 a piece and a 10 and 20 rebate at CC so i got 2 for the price of one more or less. :) Oh you can tell if it is 333 by checking the chips and seeing if they say Samsung and the ending numbers say TCB3 which both of mine are. Wow one hell of a deal!

The large S is for Spectek, pretty decent chips. It looks like the Superman logo right?

Not really all TCB3 performance better than TCB0. Only the letter before the "-" matters. If it is a "C", it can reach over 200FSB, if it is a "D", i can only get around 180FSB. Check review HERE for both Samsung module. The TCB0 chips has been used on Corsair XMS 2700 also.

I wasn't saying that the TCB3 are best just that they are 333.

My Compusa wouldn't let me see the package, because they keep them locked up and they were too busy. I went to Circuit City where they did have one stick of the Samsung PC2700, but they refused to honor the pricematch. They told me that they would honor it, then after keeping me at the checkout for a half hour came back saying that they couldn't honor it because it's a mail in rebate. It is not a mail in rebate. I pointed that out several times, eventually the manager came over and said they can't honor it. It's bullsh*t. I eventually just got a stick at compusa, but it's not the Samsung. I'm sending in a complaint to Circuit City later today, not sure if I should send one in to the BBB or not.

Couldn't you just go buy a stick at CC now and return the stuff you got at CUSA to CC and waste their time for wasting yours ;)?

I got 3 from Staples. 2 of them hane Nanya chips and the other has chips with a big S on them and the PCB has spectek on it.

I got staples to pricematch compusa but the manager would only pricewatch to 69.94 not 89.94 saying it's their policy to pricematch to the adter rebate price. SO i got 30 + tax (32.95) off instead of 50+. So they come to 39.94 after rebate. I had some couple of 10 off 40 coupons so the final price will be
29.95 each.

I've seen some threads where they say the pricematch should be from 89 not 69 but my staples wouldn't go for that.

Also one stick says 266A (nanya) the other says 266B (the spectek)...what's the diference?

RE:"yeah pricematch should work for both sticks but rebate only for one"

Have them ring it up separately. Have it sent to separate addresses.

The way CC PMs with MIRs annoy me. If you try to get them to PM someone and CC has a rebate, they'll only match it to the price with the rebate included. But when another store has a rebate, they won't match the price after the rebate. grrr.
Anyone know what their policy is supposed to be? Their website is vague and so is what they have posted in store. Or is it a YMMV deal?

You think the way CC's PM is annoying? I just got back from staples near my area and the store was about to close at 6, I got there at like 5:50. I had to wait around till like I was the last customer and finally I got them to PM to crapusa's price. After the transaction was already made and the cashier was telling me to fill this and this out on the receipt to get the 20 rebate the manager comess out and gives me the crap that they have to add 20 dollars to my purchase because of the rebate. And I was like the last customer there. I heard the cashier saying that they did an earlier deal like this to another customer and he got the 40 dollars out the door deal. I'll try another staples tomorrow and hope I have better luck and hope the deal is still going on.

With the $20.00 compusa rebate that just got linked on this page, why di we go throuth all the trouble to price match at Staples. I wasted too much time today trying to get Staples to price match. All we needed to do was buy a Compusa for $39 and send in $20.00 rebate. Can't believe it took this long for someone to find that compusa has a rebate for $20 also.

Thanks poppagene, wish you were here sooner.

I'm still going to try and PM from staples to compusa since staples has a better rep on rebate fulfillment.

Went back later in the day and bought another stick of Sammy and then a stick of Elixer. The Elixer can go in my pops rig. So i got a gig of ram for 34+34+tax=73-30 then 34+tax-30 and 40+tax-30 ironically the most expensive was the elixer because i didn't have the heart to ask them to do 110% I already cleaned the guys out hehe.

One of the best money making shopping days ever.

I have good managers at Staples;) They are cool, didn't even give me crap on the $99 120GB Maxtor deal even though the reciept was from the two days before, across country, and for the 2MB cache ones (I was after the 8MB ones). Just gave me a smile and said you found a great deal.

Now that I know that Staples also has a rebate, might try them instead.

Anyone want to put up a scan of their reciept?

The compusa rebate goes to rebateshq in florida which is the same location as the staples rebates.
