256 MB ram $20 After Rebate

I saw on another site (techb****ns) that there are TWO sales coming this weekend for 256 MB PC133 ram $20 after rebate. One is at Bestbuy (RK-Byte 256MB PC133), the other is Circuit City & doesn't list a name. I thought that I had seen that CC was using Crucial, I don't know if this will be the Crucial or not.

Have Fun !

I doubt the ciruit city RAM is crucial.. More than likely it's centon....

I remember the day when I got 256MB free after MIR from CompUSA 😀

Looks like it's a good time to sell my extra DIMMs.

I know what you mean... RAM prices are going up... I am glad I took advantage of it while it was cheap.... Now I have more than I need but for the prices I paid ... I don't care 😀. I think over the last year the most I paid for a stick of RAM was $31.99 for Crucial 256MB DDR PC2100 ECC REG Ram...

Not anymore 🙁

Don't even get me started about RAM prices, let's just say I've paid more for 16 MB than most people will spend on a whole system this year. It still pisses me off until I think about how cool it is to be able to buy a gig for less than $100. So much for the "good old days."

Thanks for the heads up on the RAM. I need a couple of cheap sticks to go with these KT7-RAIDs someone just gave me so I can bring a couple more relatives into the 21st century. Guess I gotta start looking for some cheap procs now, too.

$20 isn't bad, but just this past week it was $14.99 after the same rebates at CircuitCity. (The 128MB PC133 was $2.99 AR, if you could find them.)

I was just browsing the CC site and they have this 256 MB PC133 by Centon for $44.99 - $10 CCMIR - $20 MMIR for a total of $14.99 just like Danzilla said was the deal for last week. I haven't lookd at the ad yet so maybe there is some kind of conflict.

So up-front cost is $12 lower at BB, after (2) MIR cost a CC is $5 cheaper. Of course if you are one of the lucky ones who got a BB $5 coupon in the e-mail (expires 1/4/02) this point is moot.

Too bad they both don't use the same brand of memory. I get some of my best PM deals playing CC against BB.

Ohhh this is that new RAM with the built in 512Kbs modem!!!

The CC ram is K-Byte. I picked up 2 sticks for a system I'm building for a friend. Every stick had diferent memory! I got one with NEC and one with Infineon chips. There were a bunch with names I never heard of. If you get this, look carefully to see what you are buying.
