Get the 6800GS, Faster cheaper, and doesn't require any ocing or softmodding. Plus if your into ocing it, it has a lot of headroom.

People need to pay attention to the fact that the OP is refering to CANada.

I say go with 6800GS. It'll pretty much overclock to 485 on the core exceeding 6800Ultra speeds and the memory should do OK. You have 0 risk in terms not unlocking to x850. It'll be faster in all OpenGL games and it supports PS3.0 (minor). ATI cards also suck in Age of Empires 3...I like strategy games so....

Also I've noticed over the years that Nvidia cards almost always perform faster than ATI cards in pure speed modes (noAA/AF). So if you plan on keeping this card for a while, then it'll have better longevity due to this fact when you finally cant play with AA/AF any longer.

I think you should in the end choose based on the games you play at. If you unlock to x850, expect better performance in Call of Duty 2, Far Cry, HL2. Nvidia card should be faster in Doom3, Quake 4, FEAR, Chronicles of Riddick.
