so it seems my local circuit city has the drive, its not going to be a problem to use the "old" form that shows through the 22nd is it? circuit city site is wrong about availability nm
Well, I have 1TB (1000GB) on my home media server. All my music, movies, TV, photos, and files. I run J River Media Center so I can stream any of my media across the internet to wherever I am. It's very convenient. But I have a fat upload (768K) from Cyberonic DSL that makes this easy, including lower-bitrate DIVX movies. I also have a TV/FM Tuner PVR setup continually recording shows I might be interested in and storing them. Media Center can transcode stored media on the fly so I can watch them from wherever.
But on the topic of these specific 250GB disks, I noticed there are now like 5 billion or so WD 250GBs for sale on fleabay, all "with UPC removed".
Personally, I think it's incredibly devious of Circuit City and Western Digital to have turned so many of its customers into voluntary resellers.
