They're probably worried it wouldn't sell due to the size or performance and I know people on here often say they need a spacious and comfortable car. I'm 6 foot tall, and there's still 3 or 4 inches of headroom so it would be comfortable for a longer journey. As for performance, I rarely get over 50mph round here so I don't notice that often. There seems to be a growing dissatisfaction with the current offerings over there (especially for fuel economy), so maybe if people keep downsizing, cars like this will get a look-in.

What about car seats though? Part of the reason for the move to spacious cars in the USA is the requirement that all kids be strapped down in car seats until they're about 5-7. I had to trade-in my car (Mustang) for a minivan for that very reason when my second child came along. There was no way I was going to fit two car seats comfortably in a two-door car. Especially an infant car seat which is required to be rear facing.

I'd buy one if they sold it in the US.

I wouldn't take it on the Highway, but definitely drive it around town going back and forth from work. Running errands and such.

So did my Mustang. :laugh: The only way I could fit a rear-facing baby-seat in the back seat was if I had one of the front seats pushed all the way forward. With me 6'2 and my wife at 5'10 that just wasn't going to work. 😉 A front seat already had to be moved forward to accommodate my son in a forward-facing seat.

Actually, it will. I imagine when my Beetle was running on 3 cylinders it was probably putting out around 30hp, since it's rated@40hp when all 4 are running. You just can't expect to go over 65mph. And hills aren't so fun.

A third, and probably the main reason, is safety, at least it were to be classified as a passenger automobile. I'd not want to imagine the aftermath of a collision of a truck versus one of these.

When you say truck, I assume you mean one of these? They've started selling those over here and they look mucho retarded on our roads.

A truck in UK terms would mean a much bigger vehicle. I don't think anyone stands a chance against those bad boys :Q
