2500+ Socket A for shuttle

I've been looking at a socket a cpu for my shuttle which will go to me dad. I aked him what he wants in it and he told me a 2500+, 1gb ram, everything else he has. I found the ram, now I just need help with the cpu. They have a retail sempron 2500+ for like 72 at ZZF or a OEM barton 2500+ for 79 at egg. Which one would you suggest?

Are there any other I should be looking at? Is there a performance difference?

A Barton will trump a Sempron - just as a P4 will trump a Celeron. Even though you'll need to buy a seperate HSF, I'd say the Barton is a better deal. :thumbsup:

Review of 2500's various flavors.

The barton performs the best (no surprise), but the difference is usually less than 10%.
