2500+ O/C to 3200+ on Air

It started out as a 2500+(1,833MHz), cut the L3 closest to the core to enable 13x and above and cut the 3rd from the core to do 13x so it would boot as a 13x. It runs sweet as a 3200+ at 2,324MHz.

Can't complain about a 21% overclock.

Bumped the core to 1.725V from 1.650V.

Processor temp at full 100% load is 35C with case ambient at 30C and room ambient at 28C.

Bah 2500+ to 3200+ on air is old news now. Try getting it to 2.4 or 2.5 on air and then we have something cool.. =)

the very beefy, cool, hand made heat sink is awesome. the load temps are awesome, though how many fans running in the case has to do with good temps too. (THUMBS UP)

i've got my 2500 @ 3200 with just a simple BIOS function. didn't have to cut bridges or anything. though your 2300+ mhz clock is faster than my 2200 mhz

Proof

Unfortunately it was running in the lower 60s under full load like that, so I backed down to 2.4, which is what I'm running now. Using a SLK947U.

Now that is some custom work I can respect. This is the only exception I'd make to having a case window... to show that custom heatsink off... maybe even find a large lense to put on the side of the case to magnify the heatsink so it's easily seen from outside!

I wish I had the time, money, resources, and patience to create a custom heatsink similar to that... I'd like to make ducting to completely isolate the CPU from the rest of the case... so that one of my 80mm case fans sucks air in the front, pushes it through the ducting, through the heatsink, and through some more ducting to another 80mm exhaust fan.

I think that heatsink deserves a pet-name. Frankensink? Halloween is around the corner and that thing is a pure monster.

Doesnt have the laser-cut down to perfection look of a ThermalRight... but who cares when it performs that good... an achievement anyone should be proud of.

(Hint: Make them look better, patent the thing then sell the design on )
