Then the safest max temp you think is ok to go?

The default voltage of Bartons is 1.65V. But different motherboards probably will not be exact, but have a variance of +/- 0.05V.

My idea of the safest max temp is 60C under full load. But each motherboard does get their temperatures differently.

2500 @ 2.2 is about as common as....... i dunno,.... its common

Mine was about as easy as it gets, stable too

But are you able to run Prime95 for 12+ hours straight with no errors? That's my definition of stable :)

Sure, lots of 2500s will hit 2.2GHz and boot Windows, run mostly without errors, but I don't think the probablilty of hitting 2.2GHz and being Prime95 error-free is even close to as high.

I was able to get my system to hit 2.2GHZ (11x200 @ 1.8v). I have a Abit NF7-S with a Thermalright SLK-900(A) with Vantec Tornado 92x38mm for cooling. I was able to run Prime95 for 24 hours and 20 minutes before I stopped without any errors or warnings. CPU stayed at 33C idle, and around 44-46C when under the Prime95 load. I will probably deem the system stable until a meltdown occurs.

I am not sure what the success rate is on getting the CPU to 2.2 but I am pretty happy that I was able to get there. It seems others are more fortunate than this. Others can hit or surpass this benchmark with even less tweaking.

WobbleWobble thanks for the reply.

I can run prim95 for days no problem and still can. But for some reason latley on bootup it doesnt come up all the time then I hit the reset and it comes right up and can run prime95 anything I want and stays stable from that point on. Almost like a PS issue. But dont think it is with a Antec 430 True Watt PS.

Even good components can fail... it could be your motherboard too. I hope you get that fixed, but I don't want to hijack this thread :)
