250 watt PSU..(duron 1ghz)

I've got a 800mhz athlon on a sh|tty deer 250w.
I think you should be fine, unless youve got a whole wack of peripherals

I run a duron 1ghz system with a GF2 Ultra, hdd+cd+cdrw+dvd on a 230W PSU and no problems at all. System is rock stable.
If the PSU is good quality you'll be fine.

I have a xp 1.6 with cd and floppy 1 hard drive and all onboard running of a enlight 250 watt PSU, and its perfectly stable!

Got a XP 1800 here on a powerman 250. Rock stable. I have a DVD-rom, Radeon 8500, CD writer and a SB Live. One downfall is that it's limiting how much I can overclock.

Just because a power supply is rated at 250w dosn't mean it's any weaker than a 450w power supply in terms of feeding the CPU. The only difference is , the lower you go, the less power connectors you get. The reason why people sometimes have trouble running a 250w power supply on a high end CPU is because most 250w power supply's are pretty cheap and dont provide consistent power flow.
