Please change the title as you have to pay for shipping costs. $4.95 = 3 weeks. $8.95 = 1 week.

it says "printed for free at www.vistaprint.com" discreetly on the back, according to fine print. hmm... i don't care how good they look, i feel awkward handing out business cards that say they were free on it.

This deal has been around for quite a while, but it's good to remind folks. As for the "Printed for free at vistaprint.com" logo on the back, it's a fairly small line in unremarkable print - not bold or anything. The cards themselves are great - I got some to hand out, and everybody who's gotten one have commented on how nice they are. I couldn't be happier with VistaPrint. Even if you didn't want that line - you can have it removed for $9 and change.

The quality of the cards is very good and, unlike other -free- offers, you can add color to the design. I agree about the vistaprint message on the back, it's not bad. At any rate, I ordered some and plan on including them in my packages as contact information.

Just got mine -- they're beautiful. I may even pay the extra $5 to drop the advertising off the back (once I go thru the 250 "free" ones!).

One caution: They halftone screen all the colors, and as a result they show up much lighter on the printed cards than they appear on the layout editor. When editing, make the colors darker, and they should come out closer to what you want.

Hello all,

This is my first post. I have seen several threads concerning Vistaprint and their 250 business cards for free deal (plus $4.95 for shipping and handling).

Vistaprint is making money on your $4.95. I applied for a job there and was told they have around a 30% margin on the $4.95, so the're not saints.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that everyone, or anyone, should stop buying from Vistaprint. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I just thought our members should know the whole truth.

Vistaprint is making money on your $4.95.

Does it really matter if they are making money on the free cards or not?

I would rather them make money on the free cards instead of losing money so that they will stay in business and we can continue to take advantage of this offer!

Thanks for the 30% margin info. They must really have their act together to see that kind of profit on the deal. Gotta admire that, especially in the printing world, a true cutthroat business.

Hey OK could you now go and apply for a job at Cyberrebate.com? Maybe you can glean some intel there and answer the countless questions that keep popping up about their business model. Just a thought.

I had a friend who was employed by Vistaprint until today. He was laid off because Vistaprint was unable to get their third round of financing. A couple of months ago 70 people worked at the company. After today, they are down to just 20 people.

Buy your Business cards quick.

To answer some of the responses to my previous post.

I would have liked Vistaprint to succeed, which they still might. I think it has a great concept, and obviously from the number of threads concerning this deal people are interested in their product. Being able to offer 250 business cards for just $4.95, and making money on the deal is fantastic. The only thing that I had a issue with is their claim that the cards are worth $85.00.

From what my friend told me, they have also received an extremely high number of web visits. Why they can't attract funding is beyond me. Blame the present Dot Com phobia.

I'm looking for the Staples deal. Where they gave you 250 business cards for free. With no shipping charge. It was listed on this board many months ago, but I've forgotten the thread. Anybody remember this one?

Yeah sure I remember. I got free cards from Staples and from VistaPrint. But come on you can't compare! Staples cards are black and white only sort of like your Doctor's card. Very unimpressive. Vistaprint's are really cool. And with their online software VistaStudio you can design whatever you want in as many colors. I did and I am totally satisfied. Got my 250 already and I paid the $9.99 to remove the words on the back and $7.50 for express. It's well worth it.

Hope Vistaprint can turn around a bit. I even bought the business card holder so that they'd make a bit of money of the deal. The cards are top notch! I'm planning on including them with shipments I send off in the FS/FT forum

I also tried Vistaprint and placed my first order. Crads arrived in 10 days with standard shipping option. I paid for glossy face and to remove the ad on the back, the cards look very professional. However the color(s) are halftoned as previously noted, I had a red line across my card that looks almost orange.

All in all I am happy with the order, price and convenience of doing it on line.

Just tried their service for the first time...even payed to upload my logo...hopefully, it won't end up looking like a$$.

Even if it does, I could always go order 250 more for $4.95 without a logo and cut my losses...right?!

I think we should try to let those good service site stay in the business. A good place should have moderate profit. I order some from them, and recommand my friend to them too.
