3-5 weeks though per OP.

looks like a pretty good deal to me. I've been waiting for a 27" deal, but this is tempting!

The resolution is perfect. And acer does good quality, But the price for the 27" gets over $360. Don't think you would need a 27" for a monitor anyway. Still tempting yes.

Actually, I'm going to blame the OS this time around because the writing was on the wall for quite some time and they neglected to provide an imlpementation or even future implementation details until it was too late.

Even 2x downscaling does not work right, like running 720p resolution on 1440p screen in this case. It results in blurred image. Serious WTF.

I mean threes gong to be something that you can't run at native. So your options are 1080p or 720p. Yes 720p is kind of coarse but at least the shouldn't be any interpolation.

anyone with lots on hours on this monitor care to comment. I've not been impressed with Acer anything for the long haul so a 1-6 month review doesn't do me much use.

The OS has a proper implementation. Applications choose to ignore it.

That is not correct and you know it. Applications using certain API can use scaling properly. Even using very latest Win32 API won't get scaling right by the default, without the programmer doing the extra work. It seems only using latest .Net tech yields ideal solution which is 'it just works'.
The reason why scaling does not work right yet is mainly Microsoft's fault. They are only ones that can make this right. Now if I get latest chrome for Windows I see scaling issues. Ui looks blurry. Since Google is using Microsoft's compiler it means 1. It is easier to implement Web browser than to setup scaling in Windows and 2.you can make app in 2015 that is not dpi aware.

Considering it was announced in January and was available in Feb or March, I don't think you are going to find this for awhile... It has a 3 year warranty, so hopefully it works well for the long-term, but at least there's a decent warranty that is on par with Dell and HP.

I did receive mine last week. Looks great :) Wish it had USB hub, but for $280 no rebates, I am happy for what I got.
