I think that's as good as you're going to get at that budget... 🙂

If you can spare the additional funds (105LE), the G3220 + H81 gives you a bit of future proofing (newer socket/platform). But if you can't the above will do fine.

For a gaming PC, you should always prioritize the GPU over the CPU. The GPU matters much more then the CPU in games.

this is mostly true, though it seems that having 4 threads really helps with micro-stuttering. but 'fixing' that isn't worth stepping down 2 GPU classes (GTX750 --> R7 250)
 
Thanks to all members who participated in this thread I bought my PC a couple of days ago with the following specs :

Mobo: Gigabyte H61-S2P
CPU: Intel® Pentium G2030 3.0GHz 3MB Cache
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11 1.5V
PSU: FSP FSP300-60THA(1PF) 300W ATX

So the remainig part is the graphics card which I will buy at the range of 1000 LE , so Im asking your help for the last time to select the proper one 🙂

If you like to game, those 260x's are going to be very nice for you, so of course they are at the top of your price range.

I agree, I would not trust the 260x on a 300 watt power supply, even if you could somehow jerry-rig the six pin connector.

I would go with the 750 as well, although I am not sure for such a low end rig/low performance card, if 2gb vram is worth it.
 
An i3 goes a long ways, allowing you to upgrade to an i5 or i7 later on, plus the Haswell i3's comes with the Intel HD4400, not bad for most mid-range games. I put together two systems: one containing an A10 7700K and one containing i3 4130, same 8GB DDR3-2133 RAM, case, power supply and HDD. The i3 came to $422 CDN, the A10 7700K came to $547. With the i3, that leaves you room for a 7790 or R7 260/X to match the A10's budget amount.

This is in Canadian $ by the way, so it varies on where you are.

I very much agree on the i3. A great chip. Just did a build with one as well. I am curious about your numbers though. With the higher price take, is the AMD system a noticeably better performer?

About the same more or less, in MMO games the A10 struggled a little and stuttered alot because most MMO games are heavily CPU bound and very single threaded (Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2, DC Universe, Aion, etc), but in games like Sleeping Dogs or Call of Duty the A10 played them better than the i3 because of the GPU. It all depends on what games you play, Battlefield 4 will run a little better with the APU's graphics than the i3's.

However once you add in the same discrete card in both systems (eg R7 265 or GTX750Ti), the i3 will sit ahead in just about everything.
 
What about the g2030 I bought?

In all reviews I read that the i3 has about 12-22% better overall performance according to which generation you use.

What made me buy it that it has a better performance/price ratio with about 50% which was very clear as I bought it for 400 LE only , while the i3-2120 was sold for 700LE & the i3-4130 for 900LE & with a tight budget like mine I saw that downgrading the CPU to buy a better graphics card with higher performance will be a wise decision , was I wrong?
What do you think of its performance with games like BF3 or BF4?

Probably pretty bad, TBH. BF4 really likes quad-cores, or at least, quad-threads. Trying to play it on a dual-core, according to the benchmarks that I've seen for MP, is a joke.

Whoa, guys. You've failed to consider the budget being used here. An i3 + 750TI/260X would blow it completely. The 7700K without a discrete graphics card was listed as option, but the OP chose otherwise.

Well, one can't have everything on such a tight budget, and trying to play Battlefield 3/4 on an Intel IGP would turn into a slide-show right quick.
 
Pentium G2030 and R7 260X is probably the highest performance you can possibly get from new hardware in that price range. The only thing that would be faster is a used first gen i5 system. I wouldnt worry too much about the dual core limitation. It just means stuff needs to be closed before starting a demanding fullscreen game.

And I mentioned that the cost of the A10 7700K build without the graphics was $100 more than the i3 4130 build, therefor adding a discrete card comes up to close to the same cost as the A10 7700K build that I have done.

Oh and look up StayPuftOCN on Youtube, he tests many different CPU's with games like Battlefield 4, he did one with an i3 4130 and was averaging 70fps.

Don't get me wrong. The Haswell i3's are great chips, it was just a bit out of the budget territory.
 
I already made the best choices from the online shops in his area - it's his choice to ignore it and make his own selections.

Most people feel happier having made their OWN decision anyway because it's their mind doing it, not following someone else's suggestions. It won't be the best value, but he'll be happy. Whatever... do what you want.

First of all I really appreciate every member participated in this thread & took from his time & thinking to help me in my new build & special thanks to these two members "Insert Nickname" & "Blue Max" who were so much helpful , honest & devoted.

Secondly to Mr "Blue Max" ... I didnt ignore your help at all & if you re-read my replies, you will find that I followed your suggestions & your advice mentioned in the above quote but according to my budget plan I mentioned from the start. ( I gave-up the i3 that I was going to buy from the start after reading your suggestion & decided to buy the GTX750 that you also suggested)

If I followed this plan + the 4GBRAM (300LE) + case with decent PSU (350-400LE) = 2600LE which I cant afford in the current time , so I made my choice to lower the CPU & the Mobo a little bit to get the advantage of better graphics card as you advised 🙂

According to the local store at my city which I bought from, the G3220(450) + Gigabyte-H81(550) (ASRock is not available) = 1000 LE
While G2030 + Gigabyte-H61 = 800 LE
The 200 LE difference helped me in bying the graphics card 🙂

Another issue I want to make clear is that almost all the prices at "Egyprices.com" are from stores available only at Cairo (the capital) which is about 300 kilometers from my city 🙁 . That is why I bought from a local more expensive store.

One last thing , AMD processors & motherboards are not popular in my city & it's not easy to find them & they are also very overpriced as you mentioned.

Actually I'm wondering a bit about that. It would seem to me that AMD's products (especially the new socketed Kabini) would fit the Egyptian market perfectly. But of course, what do I know, I've only visited your country as a tourist... 🙂
 
I wouldn't have recommended going with a socket no longer in use, but I can totally understand having to make tough choices to get something good in a VERY tight budget. When you get it all running, let us know how you like it. 😉
