If there was ever a case for "kill it with fire", that would have been it. Don't try to move a 200lb hive full of deadly bees, get as much fire as you can and burn that shit to the ground.

No kidding. Screw moving it, bust out a flame thrower or the world's largest can of Raid.

That sucks, poor pig. There's no way I'd move that hive, I'd torch it or use pesticides to kill the hive. Honeybee's are important, killer bees are not.

IIRC, africanized honeybees are actually immune to most pesticides.

If you don't want to or can't torch the hive, soap and water works.

Bees were one of my favorite weapons in Bioshock. They weren't super effective, but they got everyone pissed off without my direct involvement :^D

This is what I've always heard as well. If I remember correctly it covers their air holes and eventually kills them.

I think they are honey bees. I believe they were brought over for their increased honey output. Dicking with nature bites us in the ass again.

Correct.

Most of the honey bees in the Southern border states have been "Aficanized", meaning they are a hybrid of European and African bees.

Normally not a huge deal (not as bad as originally predicted), although sometimes they get hyper-aroused like in this case.

Read above post. These are the 'honeybees' of the southern U.S. (and probably on their way to a town near you).

I am surprised that this southerner didn't shoot them.

And here I thought "1,000 lb hog" was your usual trailer park fat trash!!

They had been saying this for the last 20 years, but AFAIK africanized honeybees' progression has more or less halted and they remain confined to the southern states.

What do you do in that situation, if it was a person getting attacked like that? How do you help? I mean this as a serious question.

I prefer the tactic of running like a bitch with my arms flailing around while screaming like a girl.

On a serious note (actually the above is a quite accurate description of me getting attacked by bees), aren't fire extinguishers supposed to kill them (cold or co2 or something)?

Bees are quite valuable and an important part of agriculture.

WTF? Killer African bees are "quite valuable and an important part of agriculture"???

Is it from all the added nutrients that is added to the soil after they do shit like kill the livestock or something?

Let's not forget that once they move in and push out the local honeybees, honey production suffers because they're not that great at producing honey.

LOL! The could be the best damn honey producing bees in the universe and I would still assume that honey "collecting" would go way down leaving us with the same net result.

Gotta take gigantic balls (and a rather small brain) to go jacking honey from those bastards.

Is this really jsut a test to see if people read the headline of the first post and read nothing more?
