$25 Tivo

I got a 40 hour Tivo today from Best Buy. I don't know if it is possible to get the same deal, but here is how I did it:
I bought an open box Tivo for $140
They gave me a $25 gift card (some special offer going on this week)
They also gave me a $100 rebate to mail in
The total, providing they actually honor the rebate on the open box Tivo came to about $25 by the time taxes were included.
Good luck!

There should be no problem honoring the open box part of the rebate, provided you still have the UPC stuff on the box.

put YMMV in the title, as not every bestbuy will have an open box tivo, and not everyone might get the GC , but sounds like a sweet deal IMO. Now pay the 300 for lifetime subscription 😉

Nice deal.

Although I am not going to complain about the deal I got a couple of weeks ago at CC. $99-$50 mir

I just got the thing hacked over the weekend. I tried to put a 120 and a 160 gig drive in it but both turned out to be bad. So I bought a 60Gig at staples. Now if I can just find a usb lan adapter. Every store has wireless usb but they seem to have quit stocking wired at the B&M stores.

What brand were the hard drives that were bad?

TiVo will honor your rebate they are very easy to deal with on the rebate.
I bought a refurbished Toshiba DVD with Tivo on ebay for $150 and sent in my paypal reciept with the upc code and my rebate has been approved and is waiting to be mail as we speak. $50 for a PS dvd player that has tivo function. I would not recommend this unit as your 1st or only tivo, but it works great as a transfer spot from my other tivo and I needed a DVD player 😉
I had a problem with it but email the info they needed and they got it back on track.

I would suggest going to www.tivo.com and pre-qualify your rebate. They will give you a sheet to print out. Basically all you info will be put in for them for a fast turnaround on your rebate.
