An Army official said one soldier was convicted of murder in the U.S. military justice system for shooting a prisoner to death in September 2003 at a detention center in Iraq, and another prisoner was killed at the Abu Ghraib jail near Baghdad in November 2003 by a private contractor who worked as an interrogator for the CIA.

The soldier was reduced in rank to private and thrown out of the service but did not serve any jail time, the official said. The official said the soldier shot the prisoner after the prisoner had thrown rocks at the soldier, and the soldier was found to have used excessive force.

A little misleading since some of those deaths were from natural causes or from escaping and I guess other cases.

However, it's MESSED UP that a soldier KILELD one of the prisoners and received no jail time.

Yup, now we stand "shoulder to shoulder" with the Israelis in more ways than one.

The Private Contractors are LAWLESS .. We have no loaws that cover them so they can go there and murder and rape anyone they feel free to... because we do not have any laws set up to prosecute them.. ;)

True, while our soldiers are upheld to a high standard, the contractors can do almost anything they want.

and that hypocrite Bush talks about the torture chambers of Iraq like it's some big deal. Looks like nothing has changed to me. We've been fed a load of dog doo from the very beginning, which makes me wonder how any american could put blind faith in a liar. I guess lying is the american way now, and you get rewarded for it. s'cuse me, I'm gonna go lie now

You can kill someone by throwing a rock at them. Although when I was a little kid the neighborhood children and I used to have for fun rock fights. Two teams each get on opposite sides of a small building and toss rocks over it. You cannot see where the kids are you are hoping to hit.
You can hear them cry when you get a lucky shot in and its very fun until you get hit. I grew up in a tough neighborhood this was more popular than baseball or soccer. =)

Ya, so did anyone try to shoot you for throwing a rock at them?
