Just got myself 3 DVDs: Air Force One ($21.99), A Bug's Life ($27.99), and Shanghai Noon ($19.99) for a total of $45, including tax, at Office Depot by using a $10 off $50 e-mail coupon from OD on top of the 25% off all DVDs in the store........I might return A Bug's Life so that I can get the other two DVDs for about $11 each....The reason I bought all three is to get over $50 minimum purchase in order to get $10 off.

You are going to feel stupid when you wake up tomorrow morning to find that OD dropped the prices to 50% off. Or maybe you'll feel better if they price adjust. You will probably have to pick up one more DVD in order to retain the $10.00 coupon.

Well let me jump in on this thread a sec....
Went to OD today to see what was available there, because the CSR I spoke with on the phone knew of the 50% off deal but said they were only a few left in stock. When I got there, I found all of 2 dvd's (out of 10 on the rack) I wanted and was dissapointed. While discussing the 50% off deal with a csr, a manager walked up and I offered to buy all the dvd's she had *IF* she would give me the 50% off deal. She told me that she had "hundreds of dvd's in the closet" and proceeded to take me to them. I scored BIG TIME to say the least. Here is my take home today:

Deep Impact list $29.99 24.99
Peter Pan 29.99 29.99
13th Warrior 29.98 24.99
Star Trek 1st con.29.99 24.99
Star Trek Insu. 29.99 24.99
The fugitive 24.99 19.99
US Marshals 19.99 14.99
The Mummy 29.99 19.99
Outlaw Josey W. 19.99 15.99
Star Trek 1st con.29.99 24.99
Wizard of Oz 24.99 19.99
Generals Dtr. 29.98 24.99

subtotal: 270.88
tax: 22.35
total: 293.23

coupon 1234 -10.00
coupon 7743 25% -67.72
coupon 7743 25% -67.72

subtotal: 125.44
tax 10.35
total: 135.79

Now I know that this 25% twice is not as good as getting 50%, and I wish the $10 coupon would have been the last thing applied but I got a really good deal in all. OD told me they will not PM any clearance items and they are calling these clearance, so if you bought at 25% off, you are going to have a hard time getting your other 25% back... You will also notice I didn't use the $10 off $50 coupon code, I took it with me but couldn't find it at checkout so they just used code 1234 since I was dealing with the manager directly and she knew about the online one. My advice is to get there early folks and go straight to a manager to see the whole selection. Good luck!

ITS 50% off NOW in Houston
...snip
Just got back from OD after a volley of exchanges...

I now am the proud owner of

13 (Marginal to Great) movies for $69.48!!!

$5.35 a movie! I am quite content.... I have one more OD to hit...
but no more tricks up my sleeve... so its just 50% + 10 off 50 coupon.. if I am lucky!!

$5.35 rules ... now my average cost per DVD for my whole collection is $8.76!! not to bad... considering my first 6 DVD's cost 15+ a piece. I paid $22.49 for Bugs Life!! What was I thinking.... ? oh yeah shiny new toy must play with it get a cool movie!

Thats what I was thinking...
