With all of these people signing up with new dummy accounts you can be sure newegg won't do this again... They should probably go by the billing/shipping address instead of email/account name,ect...

But that assumes there would never be 2 people in the same house that would have accounts which isn't true. If I had a roommate would we use the same newegg account? Nope, but we have the same address. I'm not sure how they'd check but the address wouldn't cut it.

Yeah, I thought that was kind of abusing the system a bit but really Newegg should have known and account for it. I did manage to sign up for one extra account to take advantage of the deal. Got in on an order within the last 3min prior to expiration of the $25 discount and the product MIR. :awe:

That and companies do this for new accounts all the time. They are aware people abuse it. It still brings them in money as it prompts people to spend.

Wife just became PC enthusiast for a Samsung Spinpoint 1TB with $10off promo code and -$5 instant, and 2x2GB of Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 PC1600 with a $15 rebate.

Nice! thanks for the post and the linkage.

got the above stuff today for $70.58 after Kingston MIR. I'm not crazy for rebates but Kingston sends you a real check, not a prepaid VISA, They're fast too. About a month for my SSD rebate from them.

You built a system for $175 off of $700. That is 25% off... but only if each part was $100. If some parts were under $100 no discount, if some were $200, discount drops to 12.5%... seems like a lot of work when with some deal watching you can get a system for 25% off anyway.

It's Hot Deals!

I'm sure a buyer can stack carts at or near $100 (use rebates) if he/she can create that many accounts....either way, every $25 is another steak dinner 🙂.

EDIT: I will say my Wife bought me a $175 (b4 $25) Security Camera for work....so yes, less discount. We wern't going to buy otherwise though. Code worked.

LOL at all the folks who think I really did this, calculated and analyzed ROI, etc. I wont ever do that to Newegg, I'm their long term customer. Thats why they offer this only to new accounts. 😉

Believe you? No. Doesn't mean we can't discuss the possibilities, besides I'm talking about steak not you.

jjmIII - I've been to Chicago only once but was fortunate that it was on expense and the boss said have fun. I was too young to know much but I did make it to Morton's. Kinzie's sounds like a good choice for my wallet if I do end up back there.

My mom even shops there... seriously, on her own... At least after finding out from me what to get for her computer. She's 58, I think...
