25' & 3' coax, splitter, 6' cat5 for $.01 @ CC!!

So I just signed up for a cable modem through Comcast and I go into Circuit City to pick up the starter kit, not that I really needed them to tell me how to hook it up but you need the UPC for the $100 rebate. Couple guys I know in the neighborhood just got one too so I figured I'd be the friendly guy and pick up 3 starter kits since they're only a penny each. Lo and behold when I get home I realize that there's a 25' and a 3' coax cable (decent quality but not top of the line) along w a splitter and 5 or 6 feet of cat5. All in all, probably worth around like $30. The guy at circuit city looked at me a little funny when I brought 3 up but I told him what the situation was and he didn't make any attempt to stop me from buying them. Hell I could have grabbed 10 for a dime and he wouldn't have cared.

There was some books, documentation and cd's that came with it...they're went right in the circular file...hope I didn't need anything in there. 🙂

Hello!

Do you have a product number? This might be regional. I'm in San Diego. We have Cox @ home. I could use an extra cable!

Someone posted about this same thing not to long ago. I never made it to the CC here to see if they had any though I need to.

Sorry, rebate is already in the mail and the trash is out the door. I know this is easier said than done but give a call to your local Circuit City and see about the starter kit. The package does have Comcast all over it, though.

At what point does something go from being a hot deal to being deceit and/or theft? I'm sure I'll be flamed for my opinion on this, but sometimes people go too far looking for a good deal. Hopefully, most people still have a conscience and would resist "deals" of this nature.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good deal as much or more than most people. But when does it go too far?

dude, what are u talking about?

If someone manages to pick up an extra one of these, I'd be happy to pay for it, including shipping and your time.

Let me know if you do.

I'd go myself, but I don't have easy access to a CC.

It goes to being deceit when you change the price tag. It goes to theft when you stick it down your pants and walk out without paying. If a retailer prices an item... you buy it at that price how is that deceit/ theft?
