I asked the CSR about "IN STORE PICKUP" and was told no. They don't mix the store inventory and the ONLINE warehouse inventory, so it was a NO Go...sorry.

Am I missing something here?

Their Web site says the $109.00 includes rebates. The deal then should be $109.00 less the $25.00 and
not the extra $20.00. You can't deduct the rebate twice.

Anyone can confirm their actual final cost from OM NOT including the $20.00 rebate?

I believe the price reflects the $20 Instant Rebate. There is however, also a $20 MIR. That, plus the $25 coupon brings trhe price to $65.

The online price is $109....subtract the $25.00 Coupon (found at various sites) and there is a $20.00 MIR also....$64.99 + tax (free shipping) for me....IF I get it...🙁
 
To those with a Hastings Video Store (this is a Midwest chain), you can get essentially the same deal. The Cendyne 24X is $89 on sale, with the same $20 rebate, so it is $69 + tax.
 


<< I'm not a huge PC World fan but they have a couple of relevant articles. First is this Top 5 list for CD-RW drives dated 10/26/2001 and there is a also a review dated 10/03/2001. They mention it uses the same actuator as the Lite-On and that the software bundle includes InCD and Nero. Similar but not identical performance to the Lite-On in the top 5 comparison. The Cendyne was 4 out of 5, by the way, with the Samsung pushing it down a notch due to lower price ($100 vs $160 in the article, hee hee).

My in-laws have been wanting a burner and my "old" plextor 121032A will look real nice sitting in their box. 😉

Edit: As if this wasn't a good deal anyway, this ZD Net article says it includes the audio cable! I'm always hunting around for one of those things. Sweet. >>

I read an EXCELLENT review of the CenDyne/Lite On Drive - it got higher marks than the Lite On. BUT - the author gave this CLUE as to how to KNOW it was LiteOn based: he said, " look on the back lower corner of the box, IF there is SMART X there - it is based on Lite On because S.X. is their baby"
Wish someone could tell us IF SmartX is on these drives???

I went to the front page and I see the $50 over and free shipping but no $25 off of $100 coupon link. I looked top to bottom and nothing. What is wrong with my computer? Grrr, I never ordered from them either.
 
Ok...guys I'm in but its CBO here in R.I.. Hoping they honor the MIR it will still be within the 15 purchase time frame. OM says it will deliver by 12/5. Think I should've ordered from Next HardWareShop.com they have
the LiteOn 24x retail for $77 think shipping is another 10-11. Same price actually, with the tax my order came to $90. If I get the rebate its gravy...I guess. Hate this rebate this an that crap. Just give us a deal if you want to have a sale...jeez. Thanks guys for pointing out that the Price already reflected the instant $20. I didn't see that at first and cancelled my order.

🙁 Been trying to order ON LINE - but - they tell me, "we have lost connection" for me to CALL them. See in today's paper here - it's $89 at the store. Too much hassle - think will pay a little more and NOT have to sweat receiving back my REBATE (I hate 'em)

I was concerned about that too. Just go on through and it shows up at the very end on the final confirmation screen.
