Maybe you can recommend to me an example that pops out in your memory of 3:2 being quite noticeably poorer than 24p so I can check it out?

The example I use to test tvs is the opening sequence of my recent favorite show Boardwalk Empire. During the sequence there is a panning shot around Steve Buscemi that really stutters without a proper 24p setup.

Other examples that really stick out to me: the flying scenes in Avatar when they swoop across the screen, the beginning of Wall-E with the shots of the trash towers, in I Am Legend when Will Smith is hitting golf balls from the deck of the USS Intrepid (that one gets used in reviews), a JJ Abrams movie (he LOVES panning shots), or any of those many panning shots in the new Hobbit series.

I'm trying but I have yet to see the benefit of Cinema Smooth. I'm using the right content and don't see any difference with it on or off.

As was said earlier in the thread, some people don't notice it as much. I seem to always see that hiccup that tells me its not in 24p mode, but if you don't then that is one less thing to worry about I guess!
