I hope there is nothing left that I want in the morning, because I can't afford it. lol.
Thanks for the heads up.

15 minutes to go, I'll second the hoping for a Silverstone HTPC case, which would be brilliant. I already have an ATI 2600XT vidcard and Razer AC-1 sound, so this would make a perfect HTPC conversion PC, nice and quiet.

Exactly... I had already looked through all of these... what exactly made us think there was some sort of sale on?

Im normally pretty supportive of antec, but from what ive read the 900 is a loud dusty nightmare with poor able management. There's probably a reason it's so cheap right now...

Pretty lame, there is stuff that is on sale, but most of it was already on sale and/or had a rebate and now its just ~$10 cheaper.

Not sure where you read all that but:
  • 1) its not loud at Low settings @21dBA, and certainly not any louder than other case fans (CPU, PSU).
    2) I don't find it to be extremely dusty, but I also have a HEPA filter under my desk. Its less dusty than some Lian Li and Thermaltake cases I've owned in the past though.
    3) newer versions have updated cable management features like motherboard holes, wire clips, and water cooling holes.
    4) I think the reason its so cheap (its had better sales since the day it came out) is because its made of mostly plastic and steel and Antec sells a ton of them and can afford to.
Certainly a love/hate type of case, but I think most who take a chance on it find it to be an excellent case with unparalleled air cooling capability, especially for the price. I don't think I've seen any other products on Newegg with as many reviews (1700+) with 1400 of them being 5-star ratings. When I got mine around this time last year (for $65 at CompUSA) there were about 100 ratings. Take it for what its worth, but if anything Newegg reviewers tend to hit the 1-3 star rating even if their Cons are of the PEBCAK or user-error variety.

Overall there don't seem to be many deals though. $10 on items that were already on sale or have big rebates, $20-30 on others from full retail price.

That ASUS tower case for $30AR shipped was the only thing that caught my eye. Looked like a decent case for not to much money.

I'm actually looking for a super cheap desktop case now though, not really looking for towers. I wish I hadn't tossed that iron beast I had a couple years ago.

It is still a warm deal, just not uber hot as Newegg pimped it to be.

Antec NSK4480B $60 shipped. $45 shipped @Newegg on 1/11 (I missed that deal though, sold out fast). $30ARFS @Outpost 10/31.

The Cooler Master Mystique RC-632S isn't too terrible a deal, but a whomping $50 rebate though. Basically $30 shipped AR.

Coller Master Centurion 5 for $25 shipped AR. Have only seen it for $5 less previously.

Rosewill R220 $29 shipped. Good for a cheap case with decent ventilation and no rebate.

Thermaltake VD1000SWA aluminum case for $57 shipped after a whopping $80 rebate. Seems like the hottest deal there for someone who was already thinking of getting one (assuming rebate comes through).

My credit card is safe today from case deals.

The subject of the email said: "24 Hour Deal Blitz on all Cases!" That's what made me think there was some sort of sale on, anyway. :| Some (example: Apevia X-TSJGT-RD) don't seem to be marked down at all (it has a rebate, though). A few are are just $3 to 5$ off, but probably were that already. There's just a few that seem to be marked down special for today, and even they aren't marked down that much.

I wondered why the text of the email didn't say more about the case "Deal Blitz".

Yep,

that was a lame bit of marketing. Very dissapointing indeed.

NE has been having problems lately including the marketing department. I guess they are getting too big. I still order stuff from them but they don't seem as sharp and agile as they used to be.
