24AA batteries @family dollar $5 eveready

Be warned, my experience with $1 batteries is that they generally hold a charge for about 30 seconds, or until you get them out of the store, which ever comes first.

YMMV

Yeah, Welcome to Anandtech but spend a few extra bucks and get some decent rechargables. Lots of $$$ to be saved in the long run; even at a cheap price like this. It's just not worth it.

Again though, welcome to AT and really not a bad first post.

Not bad if they're alkaline, but stay away from "Heavy Duty" batteries. They self-discharge faster than alkalines, have about half the capacity or less, and they leak more easily if they go dead.

Welcome to AT hoser, great deal especially for people who have kids going off to college. They can take a box of their own batteries instead of stealing yours. 🙂 BTW, don't let the criticisms bother you here, it's common. With a name like hoser, it sounds like you've been wrestling a fire hose. LOL

Yeah, probably drives a big pickup with wierd flags flying on it. 🙂 I've heard people say that he's a computer expert though. Can do unbelievable things with a comp.

batteries are heavy duty, at this price i hid them just enough for my 17yr old to find them and kept my rechargeables in a secret location!!

Any disposable battery that's not alkaline is junk.
I'm not sure why they even make the non-alkaline batteries anymore.

Just buy rechargables- cheaper and better for the environment.

I got a 24pk alkaline at Dollar General for $5 yesterday. Their own brand.

Same price for alkalines! Circuit City has 48-pack of branded (I believe Maxell) AA alkalines for $9.99 through Saturday.
