They weren't specific enough as to whether they were returning to the style of the old Hitman games. Absolution was almost like a military shooter where it was just plain more fun to shoot everyone than even try to stealth.

Which Hitman titles have you played, and which did you think played the best?

All of them; Blood Money I think was the best. Though if I could adjust for graphics in the way we adjust for inflation, I might have liked some of the earlier ones as much.

Blood Money, first playthrough I did go through and shoot everything but then I played through against making maximum stealth options. Absolution, I just didn't have any desire to do that second playthrough.

I played all the hitman titles just didn't finish all of the earlier ones. My favorite was blood money and the original, followed by silent assasin. I also really enjoyed absolution. Can't wait for this either.

They seem to add some additional features each time and if its anything like the layout of absolution, there should be even more ways to complete your contract.

This game is set before Absolution. I'm still not entirely sold on the new face though. It seems like many people have a problem with it, accusing him of being too young and looking 'metrosexual' etc.

I probably wouldn't think twice about the new one if I'd never seen Absolution. I just think they perfected the shit out of the Absolution face, and it's little wonder people will complain about anything else. The new face is reasonably true to the Absolution one aside from the age. I mean they're structurally similar. The eyebrows have changed a lot, but Absolution was the outlier, it would seem, when you look at the older models.

My main issue with it is that it looks very poorly detailed in some of those scenes compared to the Absolution version, eg:

But then you never can tell much from these compressed videos.
Yea the absolution face is what it should have been. It just looks younger in this game. I also think they made it look similar to the movie which the actor in that one is younger.

Also in the second video, in the beginning where they are showing the world map with the type of crimes, on the far left it says
"Allen Please Add Details"

LOL, Damnit Allen, you had one job!

Ha I missed those completely that's good to know. Glad it will be out in December but wish it would be sooner. I hope they have more missions to the story line this time. And I hope the story is better than absolution, its almost as if it wasn't very cognitive. But following the previous games, it wasn't much built on 47's story.

Wait, this new game is before Absolution? Why? They could have set if after Absolution considering there are no conflicts, 47 is still not old, its not like he needs cat like reflexes considering they way he is as a Hitman in the earlier games.

I only played Absolution and enjoyed it ok. It'll probably be interested in this new one but only saw the one CG trailer.

IO interactive always have a lot of Easter eggs and pop culture references in hit man games.. YouTube has many videos.

I really wish hit man and splinter cell go back to their roots. Absolution was a serious let down for me. Splinter cell got bad from conviction for me.

^probably because stealth games don't usually do too well. So they tend to up the action. Dishonored seemed to have done the perfect mix for the player to choose than any other imo.

Absolution felt a bit one way but once you got into the level there were several areas to take out the targets. The levels themselves weren't as large as before so I didn't mind it. I still had fun figuring out where to go and what to do in absolution. I'm a big hitman fan though so I'll play any of their games as long as they don't make it first person and gun crazy.

I noticed people were saying it was more fun to shoot everyone but I hated getting into firefights. I don't think I shot anyone except the tutorial mission in absolution and I either got silent assasin or close on every mission.

Splinter cell needs another game, but more close to the original or Pandora tomorrow than the last game they put out.

installing Hitman Absolution right now. How'd you guys like it? Graphics look awesome from what I've seen. Does it run good on Nvidia?

Should run fine I had everything maxed. I liked it a lot, story was meh for a hitman game in general. But it has better mechanics than the previous games. People are more aware of your outfit than before, unique traps and tidbits if you take time to explore an area before planning to finish the assassination.

I loved all of the Hitman games (Hitman 2 being my favorite, then Absolution). Hopefully, they stick to a more story-driven game like Absolution because it seemed to pull a lot of people outside of the genre into the loop.
