I love my contacts and rarely go back to my glasses. They did take awhile to get used to, but I've been wearing them for about 5 years now. The only thing I don't like is driving at night with them. Glare from lights really bother me now, especially if it's raining. I just don't drive at night as often now, which is fine by me.

,,,and get them knocked off in sports, bend them when you fall asleep in them, scratch them when you drop them, get sore spots on your ears/nose, and catch them when they fall off your face when you're sweating.

I also think my attractiveness goes down 72.4% when I wear glasses.

I don't need to wear them for sports and if I do I can just wear my prescription oakley sunglasses 🙂 They don't get knocked off. Of course the only active sports I play are softball and tennis.

I don't wear them to bed so can't fall asleep in them - I take them off as soon as I get home.

Luckily I really don't NEED them yet. It makes it easier to read road signs and improves my night vision, but other than that I could go without wearing them.

Mmhmm mr sandpaper corneas :awe:

I hate contacts. I wore them for a year and they were such a nuisance. The worst is when you'd get one stuck in an eyelid and spend 20 minutes trying to fish it out. I went to glasses after that year and have never had a desire to go back.

I use those Night and Day contact that you can wear for 30 days. It's seriously the next best thing to lasik. I don't even know I'm wearing them.

Not me. I'm legally blind (like 20/200 or something ridiculous) Even polycarb lenses are thick for me, so contacts are a great option for me. (I wear -8.5 in both eyes for lenses).

Same here, I love the 30 day ones.

Use these myself.

Might have to try the Pure Vision 2's ought next time, but last time I bought them I bought several box's at once, and I'm bad and probably leave the in over a month sometimes if they aren't bothering me.

I think I'm heading into Bi-Focal range these days anyhow so might have to look into the Multi ones.

-6.5/-7.5 here.

I just got back from the doctor. Apparently I scratched my eye putting in the contacts. So it will be a few weeks before I get to try again. On the upside he gave me drops to help with the pain I'm in.

Ummm... How hard were you poking?

Don't worry about it, my first time took probably half an hour at the doctor's office. First time at home, another half hour. Took me at least a week.

I can get them in within 30 seconds if I don't drop them now.

Use clean hands.

One thing I learned more recently was to put the contact into my eye, but not pull away my finger/hand until I closed my eyelid slightly. Rarely has it stayed stuck to my finger tip again.

I can 'read', but I have to try to make it focus.

This is the problem I had with contacts. It made reading computer screens difficult and uncomfortable. The doc recommended wearing reading glasses over the contacts. I said nuts to that, I'll just get LASIK. And I did and it was awesome.

New appointment today. It took about 45 minutes but I got them both in and got one out and back in.

So now I'm wearing contacts!

They said it will take a week or so to adjust, but my vision is a bit off right now. I can 'read', but I have to try to make it focus. Another issue is everything seems physically larger (like my computer monitor).

I think this is because of the lens sitting further away with glasses. Hold your glasses away from your eyes to get an idea of the effect -- also think of the object in water illusion.

Do you have an astigmatism? If so, did you get toric lenses?

I tried to cheap out once and buy regular contacts despite having a -1.00 -ish cylinder astigmatism thing. Couldn't stand the blurriness.

Oh... that's what the line's for. I've been wearing torics long enough to know which side looks right. And I think if I put it in wrong, it feels and looks weird. I think I know what you mean by having to make it focus: after blinking, it looks like it takes a second for the lenses to reorient themselves.

If you're giving them a shot, that's good. Some f-wit I know bought $500 hard lenses because the doctor pushed them (wonder why $$$$$$$), found them hard to put in, and threw them in a corner. Fu*king idiot... It wasn't her money, unfortunately.

This time they tried a different solution and a different contact. Instead of the horrible burning it was just mildly irritated (like an eyelash in your eye) and the pain went away quickly. I'm pretty excited and I can't wait for motorcycle riding season.

I've got an appointment next week to adjust my prescription if needed.
I am happy for you. I hope they are comfortable and they make life better for you!
