Hey whenever my monitor goes into standby then comes out I get these Blue Lines that get progressively worse accross the screen. They will only go away if I turn the monitor off then back on. Is this a sign of failure or what is it? I actually searched for the problem but noone had an idea of what it was. I am asking because the monitor is under warranty and I don't want to be stuck with a bad monitor.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the monitor. You could try hooking it up to another computer to rule out the possibility of something being wrong with the computer.

It has to be something wrong with the monitor. I have gone through 3 different video cards, 2 HD, 2 processors, 2 motherboards in the lifetime of this monitor. Either that or the cable. The wierdest part is, it only will do it when the monitor turns off to standby and it goes right away when you turn it off then on.

A while back my Dell 2005wfp developed green lines that would kind of fade in the way you are describing. These monitors have a 3-year warranty from Dell - I called and got a new monitor within 3 days. No charge. You might be covered.

Well, I called Dell last night and they proceeded to 'troubleshoot' my monitor/system. She asked me to unplug the monitor and tell her what I saw. Then plug it back in and asked if the blue lines were there. Then reboot and see if the blue lines were in the Bios, then boot in safe mode and see if they were on the screen after boot. After there were no lines any of the times, because it only happens when the monitor comes out of standy, she proceeded to tell me it was my video card drivers. I explained that I have been through 3 different video cards and probably 6 different drivers in the course of 2.5 years. So she told me it was windows then, which I explained I had reinstalled twice since buying the monitor. I had to speak to her manager because she flat out refused to exchange/inspec the monitor themselves. After me getting angry and raising my voice they finally decided to ship a new one out to me.

I love this monitor but this whole situation is leaving a bad taste in my mouth with Dell.
