2407 upgrade from 2405?

I have a Dell 2405 which I enjoy immensely. Is there a compelling reason to upgrade to the 2407? Is there a significant performance improvement?
 
If you think that exchangeing back light levels for banding is ok. I had a 2005fpw and went to a 2007fpw and the blacks are better, but it has banding(I don't notice it much in games though which is why I haven't changed). If you are happy with your 2405fpw then I say keep it. I do have a quick question for you: how tall it the viewable screen on your 2405 I don't want pixels or anything like. Just the screen, not the bezel or the whole height of the stand.

Good luck on your montor choice anyway you pick it will be good; just one way is more expensive.

Got one for a 2005/7 (or any 20.1in monitor?)

I think (from what I've read) there about 10 3/4in. high. I'm just trying to see how a 20.1in would compare to my 19in. (which no doubt it will be shorter)

Well since you didn't have one, I made my own. Got the pic off of Hard forums and found the measurments on the viewsonic website.

Really wish I could afford the 24in. Dell though. Oh well, I'm sure the 20.1 will be very nice.

Op you beat me to it. I was going to post the deminsions of my 2007fpw. After checking them those are about right. So how tall would a 19" regular be?

14.8x11.9 (with 19in Diagonal)

You gain horz. and loose vert. Is it worth moving from 5:4 19in. to 16:10 20.1in?
