My 2400+ was reading 1.99ghz with 256 mb pc2100. I threw in a stick of 512mb crucial pc2700 and now its seen as 1400mhz in bios and windows sees a 1.39ghz.

My mobo is the ecs k7s5a pro, the setting are: 100/100mhz, 133/133,mhz,166/133mhz. It wont post with the 166 setting (ofcourse) and Im using the 133/133 setting when Im having the problem.

Ok, that was wierd. After I reset the cmos it read as 1800+, I switched the fsb to 133/133 and now it reads as a 2400+!

wonder why the cmos needed to be reset for it to work....?
