this is great
i dunno how i managed a 20x hardcoded mult tho
right now i'm at 20x100 on my Asus A7v kt133 board

this system rocks:

1700+ T-bred b week 51
Asus A7V rev 1.02 Kt133
896mb pc133
voodoo5 5500
sound blaster live!
slk-800 heatsink
480 watt antec true blue

too bad the board won't support my Geforce4 ti4200

So far i've heard of nobody getting a multiplyer so hi am I alone on this one ????

WOW i've never seen anyone get that high with a kt133 board.
i think that the reason there are very few or nobody doing 20 x 100 is because they want to take advantage of the higher bandwidth

here is my current bridge setup:

L1 ccccc
L3 ccooo
according to the interactive painting guide this should give me 17x but instead is 20x

anyone know how I might get a mult higher than 20x ???
All accounts i've seen online say 17x is the highest the T-bred or any athlon can go (with up to 18.5 reserved)
a 22, 23, or 24 would be nice

1700 = 11X default = ALL L3s closed/LO. So assume you only had to open bridges. Then if you modded the L3s to get the setting shown, how do you know for sure it's ccooo?? Suppose it's ccoco = 13X???

Or suppose it's an undocumented cccco, which is documented for mobile cpus as 3X, and which might then (unknowingly??) be interpreted as 20X??? Check oc-inside.de again, believe Jens shows some L3 settings above 18X, if so see what they are and check if possible considering default and what you might have done instead of ccooo.

What does Wcpuid or other reliable utility say Multiplier is??

Not flaming, just responding to your question.

yeah the mod was flawless i even checked it with a resistance meter
one weird thing is linux see's it as a duron proc tho
i was assuming this is because of the low fsb
but yeah anything over 17x is reserved up to 18.5x on the oc-inside.de guide

i guess i could try opening and closing bridges randomly

btw I got it at 105x20 2100 now

i'm gonna try see how high this shaky kt133 will let me push the fsb
just applyed some AS2 on the northbridge cooler

ohh yeah here is one source I was looking at bit codes

That rocks on a KT133!!!! Not even a KT133A!!!! :)

Definitely gives hope to others with KT133s out there that feel like they can't upgrade w/out a new mobo.

I put it at 111x20 = ~2220
for the night

I'm gonna get me some sleep but when I come back in like 8 hours i'm gonna push this beast to it's end
This time I got a good psu (antec True blue 480) and not a cheesy A1 300 watter

please feel free to comment on getting higher multiplyers if you got the know how

thanks

Gues your experience just confirms the uncertain nature of various mobos and their bios re the Multipliers issue.

BTW, Beachlink site is ours.

Interesting becauese I have a KT133 style mobo. ABIT KT7.

How are you determining that the multiplier is 20? What is telling you the CPU speed? Something in linux?

If I recall that mobo has switches to set the multiplier, provided the processor is unlocked, doesn't it? If so check the switches. You may have cross or conflict between what the bridges say and switches say. Does it have multiplier settings in the BIOS?

Also :"Problem may have begun when 4 bit Duron/Tbird Multiplier code changed to 5 bit Palomino code, some legacy mobo/bios with 4 interfacing circuits obviously unable to reset the 5th 8X Bit Value."

yeah I have no controll over the 5th value

I'm using Jumper mode right now

Not too sure if the abit board will support the T-bred but their FAQ says that the hardware is incapable of supporting it. I remember helping someone find that info awhile back and was rather suprised.

the cpu speed is reported in the bios and by my os

nice site there john

This guy claims 23x mult
If anyone can help me figure this out I just might bust out my pelts and water block and shoot for 2.5 or higher

cause you know I got the board voltage modded
heh

I got the 23x mult working

I am at 23 x 95 = 2185

now wcpuid is confused and don't know what bus I am at
hehe

I'm gonna go mess with this some more

10.5 gives me 24x

24 x 95 = 2280

1.9v don't seem to be holding her stable tho

I might be reaching the end of this chip
every 100mhz is taking .1v

what are your guy's experiences with vcores over 2v on the T-bred b ??

heck it's only 60 bucks.....

i'm gonna try some other combos

Currently, my cpu's vcore is running at 2v constantly, xp1700+ Tbred B @ 2.41 GHz.

As long as you have a good cooling device, you should be fine. My temperatures run into the low-mid 50s with the Thermalright SLK-800 :Q

btw, you're the first I've seen yet to have such a high multiplier on a lower end xp (and without bridge modification?).. waiting for more results :D

Dang, that's an amazing overclock on a KT133. I have an Abit KR7-raid (KT133) and it won't do past 140FSB no matter what RAM or what settings you try. Mine is a lousy overclocker...but rock stable at it's intended frequencies. It's currently the mobo in my server, and has been for more than a year now. :)

Nice OC...and good luck. :)

this is with bridge modification

I am using the latest stable bios rev 1011

well I have no way of knowing what temp my cpu is (not accurately anyways in linux: the people that wrote the program can't even spell athlon right and via didn't give them the info they needed to convert register values from the temp sensor)
ohhh well

that's a nice oc adelacru what kinda rpm's is yur fan running at ??
I got an 80mm 3700rpm fan with my slk-800
idle temps in bios are like 42c but these things aren't accurate

i'm just gonna keep going
2.1 will prob be the highest vcore i'll go but who knows i havn't made up my mind yet

My fan is running at ~3900 rpm (48 cfm @ 39db.. not too bad noise-wise) with the load temps around 50c.. sometimes higher when the ambient temperature rises.

here are all the clock mult mappings I have just found

5 - no boot
5.5 - no boot
6 - no boot
6.5 - no boot
7 - 15
7.5 - 22
8 - 16
8.5 - 16.5
9 - 17
9.5 - 18
10 - 23
10.5 - 24
11 - no boot
11.5 - 19
12 - no boot
12.5 - 20

I am at 22x107 = 2354
vcore: 2.1v

I couldn't get anything higher stable I suspect temps are my issues
I was able to boot at 101x24 = 2423 @2.15v
but it just gave me a bunch of segfaults and stuff

I dunno if it's worth breaking out my pelts and water cooling rig for a few more mhz tho

anyone know at what fsb the A7V kicks in the 1/4 pci bus divider ??
the book says 133 but that is obviousely wrong

it might be 117
but I have no way to know my pci bus speed

ohh well it was a good ride
I might lower the speed and vcore a bit so I can sleep with all these fans
hehe

the funny thing is even with all this clock speed my chipset/mem make it perform like a 2100+ system

I had to up the vcore to 2.15v to keep it stable at 22x107 = 2354 temps don't seem to be at issue
I don't like that vcore, ohh well

i'll prob just reboot another 20 times finding the "sweet spot" with fsb/mem/clock-mult speeds
I still havn't found the max fsb of this board I suspect it to be around 115
I'm hoping i'll get a 1/4th pci divider at 117 tho cause I don't like running things so far outta spec

geeez how come nobody told me this was so fun
heheh

i've been waiting to take a cpu and the kt133 board to it's max for years and now i finally have the chance to do it

I should change my nick to something with kt133 in it

I would like a kt400a board with an improved memory controller and integrated sata but that prob ain't happening so i'll prob pick up a refurbished kt333 or kt400 board over at newegg

it sucks not being able to use my geforce4 in this board
watching hardware that you payed good money for go unused and get obselete sucks

the only thing I don't like is the price of ddr memory
I will have to get 1gig if I did upgrade my board cause I'm just not satisfied with less
hehe
