Those that are interested in some overclocking excellence, The XP-m Barton CPUs are back in stock @ newegg.com. I know some people were waiting for them to come back in stock and they sell out quickly, so get them while they're hot.

AXMH2600FQQ4C 2600+ 2.0Ghz 1.45vcore $112
AXMH2500FQQ4C 2500+ 1.87Ghz 1.45vcore $100
AXMH2400FQQ4C 2400+ 1.8Ghz 1.45vcore $77

This question may belong in another forum, but:

What kind of overclock are people getting out of these processors?

Do they work in nforce2 boards?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Look Down 😀 mine is fairly modest alot of people at amdmb are getting 2.6+

Do they work in nforce2 boards?
Yes got a NF7 here my self

Holy crap! The 2400+ dropped in price $11 over the last week...(it was $88). I bought one last week when they were at $86 and it just barely showed up today...haven't even seen it yet...and now it's $9 cheaper. =( Grumble.

Yeah, that is definitely the outside envelope at which the 2400+ can boot. But it would've been interesting to see if he would be stable @ 3Ghz with a XP-m 2500+ or 2600+ Barton with good a stepping in the same system.😀

the results for the 2400 seem no worse than the 2500 or 2600 so thier seems to be no reason to spend the extra money

I hope your wrong Falloutboy525, since I couldn't help ordering the 2600+ part in hopes it will o/c to at least 2.7Ghz @ a reasonable vcore. 😉

well it seems to be all about stepping The first batch from newegg were IQYFA and only the east cost warehouse had those. now it seems those are gone the next best stepping to have are the IQYHA thats what I got ant alot of other people at AMDMB got. they seem to be averaging 2.4-2.5 at 1.8V and at 1.9-2V thier getting close to 2.7

I'm right now maxed due to power contraints (at 1.9V in the Bios my chip only gets 1.82). as soon as I get my Antec back from RMA i'll see what this baby realy can do 😀

anyone have any idea of the potential overclock using just air cooling? and also, am i wrong to assume that because these are the mobile versions, that they will run cooler, and thus have greater potential than 'regular' desktop chips of the same speed ?

no but it might not be a half bad stepping.

In a word YES

at 2.5ghz its about equal too a 3.5 or 3.6ghz P4

at 2.7 you'd proubly need 3.8+ to match it

well if it was a really good chip it would of already been a mobile so I'm guessing you'll get 2.3-2.4 outta it or 2.5 with 2V but thats just guessing. try out the chip and see what it can do

expect 2.4-2.5 but if you get a good one 2.6 or higher

Thanks for the clarification. I am just wondering, what kind of air cooling are you guys using? I have a Dragon Orb 3, the 7000rpm version. I hope that is enough, because it super loud...but it cools pretty good in my opinion.

I'm using a Vantec Aeroflo. using standard wite paste HS compound I got some AS5 in today so might be trying that later to see if it helps my temps at all currently my temps are 45 idle and 53 loaded. case temps are 27C Idle and 33 under load
