I'm buying a 24" widescreen next month and I was totally sold on the 2407WFP but I have heard of issues with subpar panels with hit or miss quality. Then I came across the Acer AL2423Wdr which has received some very good reviews and is about $30-40 cheaper.

Which one should I get? Is there another model that I should be looking at?

I'm a gamer, play a LOT of World of Warcraft with some current FPS games mixed in. As for my system specs see my sig. I have a second 7900GT and X2 4600+ on order so I should have no problem pushing native rez.

TIA

I have 2 of the Dell 2407's setup with dual-screen. It works for me. I have no regrets.

Dell 2407WFP is a great monitor.

I used the component in to connect a cable HDtv terminal and I am able to watch HDtv programming.

Fabulous!

My friend extensively compared the Dell to the BenQ. The Dell doesn't even come close to the quality of the BenQ. This is one of those things that if you're already spending ~$700, drop another $100 to get the best in class (at least according to widespead internet reviews, including my friend's).

But do as you will. I'm sure a 24" will make most people extremely happy.
