24, The Shield, Heroes

I used to love these shows, but it has been so long since they were on, I'm not interested anymore. Why did they wait so long to resume broadcasting? The Shield was finished filming before the strike began.

That strike screwed up a lot of stuff. :disgust:

I am kind of interested in the Shield, just because I know it is the last season.

I have never watched 24 or The Shield, and only one episode of Heroes. It wasn't all that good imo(first episode)

i'm rewatching the first 6 seasons of the shield now since it starts up in a couple weeks. The other 2 shows suck ass

I liked The Shield simply because it was a ton simpler than The Wire. When I watch TV, I want to veg out, not have to sit on the edge of my seat paying attention. The Wire you need to really pay attention for.

The Shield is excellent. I kinda lost interest in it because FX kept airing the show on a weird schedule, but I'll definitely catch the last season. 24 just got old and Heroes' quality took a nosedive because of the strike.

Heroes was good up until the last episode of last season.

Actually, almost all of last season was pretty bad, just the last episode was extremely bad.

That being said, I plan on watching it 🙂

the Shield is my favorite show ever, and I'm so excited to see how it concludes.

24 sucked dick the past 2 years, and the most recent season was laughable at best.

heroe's i never watched live but caught s1 on dvd and loved it, and i'll watch s2 on dvd when it comes out next week or so.

s3 i'll probably wait to watch after it airs.

I got bored with 24 about the second hour of the first season. Haven't seen the other two shows though.

Heroes S2 was really screwed up by the strike. I think if any of these shows have a good season they could spark renewed interest.

Not those shows specifically, but once the strike ended I didn't start watching The Office or 30 Rock again. Just lost interest because they weren't on for so long.

The weird thing is that in the UK they will have series that only have like 6 episodes a year.

Hah! Me too. I watched the first episode of Heroes a couple of weeks ago on the Netflix instant watch thingy. It was a struggle to watch the whole thing without falling asleep. Probably will never watch episode 2. Too bad 'cause I could use some good shows.

I liked Heroes before and can't wait for it to start again. I do anticipate being the season making me mad though, since its all focused on the villains...

I never had any interest in any of those before the strike, so no, I won't be watching them when they come back either.

Lol - wasn't this the same forum where just about everyone was in the "fuck those writers and their shows - get a real job!" camp?

The ironing is delicious.

Uh, what?

24's concept has been dragged out too far, strike or no strike the series should be done. On the other hand Heroes was potentially ruined by the strike - they had to cram the entire season into only a couple of episodes and sloppily cut out a lot of content. The Shield simply feels like its a show that has run its course and now that its on life support they've finally decided to pull the plug - rarely is this ever a good thing, and is the unfortunate norm, as networks will try and milk a good thing for all its worth and then some instead of allowing truly good creativity to dictate the course of a show. LOST finally has the right idea in actually having a finite plan, but I think they might have set that up too late, a lot of the foot dragging in the earlier seasons might have completely screwed up the course of that show.

Of the 3 shows mentioned by the op, the only one I have any hope for for is Heroes.

I heard The Shield was good but nowhere near The Wire good,

I've seen a few episodes of the Shield.

I can definitively say that nothing any Network TV Studio can produce will ever be as good as The Wire.

Shield is pretty good, though.
