I wasn't aware there was a black president in 24.

The U.S. was nuked under Palmer.

Also, Palmer was shot in the throat by a sniper.

Let's hope things go better under Obama.

Bah, it's Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact that paved the way for an Obama presidency.

Wonder if both of their storylines will end the same way...

What, you mean with random events occurring that make almost no sense and include constant changes of allegiances and random new bad guys every single hour? Or are you referring to idiot daughters having to hide out in seemingly chilly cabins with wifebeaters on?

No, I think he means when Palmer gets assassinated...

Why is this so unbelievable to you armchair pundits? People don't vote based on logic, they vote based on feeling, and a black president on TV week in, week out obviously makes the idea more acceptable to many Americans.

Wait a second - which authority said having a black president on a tv show actually "made it more acceptable to many Americans"? I'm sure some people had a problem with that too.

What are you talking about?

Sure Skoorb.. I'm sure it's stretching to say that 24 and shows like it make torture more palatable to the public is stretching too right? Give me a break. We are a culture that watches TV an average of 4 hours a day. You're trivializing its impact just because it *appears* wacky and zany to talk about the impact of TV on the public's psychology.
